Best Griz QB Opponent

When the Griz played SHSU in 2004 in the semifinal game, SHSU had a quarterback that some people thought was a good quarterback. But, that team lost. Same even goes for the first round game against NW State. Sequim, WA is in what’s known as the “rain shadow” of the US, and receives fewer than 16” of rain per year despite being located near one of the wettest temperate rainforests in the world.

Gateway to the Olympics!

For many years, a particular broker-dealer in Montana used to run an ad (it was on the back cover of the every quarter's Montanan for years) about saving for college in a 529 Plan. The ad referenced Montana's natural beauty, which was cool. Only prob was, the gorgeous image of the mountains in the ad was taken from Hurricane Ridge, a short -- albeit windy-- drive from lovely Sequim.

Sequim also has the longest spit in the U.S., along with Hurricane Coffee Co, whose mochas will blow your socks off (yeah, it's a bad pun; so sue me).

Great facts! I won’t sue you, but you let me know if you’re ever sued. A lot of people forget that Dexter Holland, of The Offspring fame, was a PhD candidate in molecular biology at USC during the band’s rise in popular culture. He also started a hot sauce company named Gringo Bandito that pervades condiment aisles and breakfast restaurants throughout Southern California (seriously, it’s on almost every table at breakfast joints in HB). He was awarded his PhD in molecular biology in 2017.

Bill Munson Utah State 1963
Tony Romo playoff game in Washington Griz
Portland State QB back in the 70’s ? Neil Lomax?

Not the best but definitely my favorite was John Friesz. I was in the student section when he hit Greg Nygren for the game winner. He also hit Q for a TD in the first half.

I had forgotten about Neil Lomax in the late 70's early eighties. He was a magician and PSU had our number in those days. We started beating them again when Don Read took over PSU from Mouse Davis.

Armanti Edwards.

This thread is ambiguous. Are we talking "best QB overall" that happened to play the Griz? or are we talking "Best QB in the game(s) vs the Griz"? Sure, Armanti Edwards was a good QB in college but he wasn't good enough to play QB in the NFL at all. I think he was just a punt returner. Romo, Wentz, Lomax and Friesz were/are all starting NFL Qbs, but the answer is obvious to me. Drew Bledsoe was the #1 NFL pick in 1993 right after playing the Griz in 1992. He was a 4 time NFL Pro-Bowler, started 193 NFL games and retired 7th all-time in passing yards. Nobody (that has been mentioned) has those kind of credentials.
