Poor officiating is an issue to some degree everywhere. It's just much, much, much worse in the bsc.

Yes, but almost never as teams. There is some individual crossover, but those shitty bsc officials are then mixed with two officials of a higher caliber who officiate games in real conferences. The bsc gets the lowest of the low, so their awfulness cannot be dampened by two better officials.

It would be interesting if those stats were broken down by conference so we could see which conference has the most whistle happy refs on average. I'm guessing the Big Sky would be one of the worst. And yes I understand that many of the refs also ref in other conferences not just the Big Sky. Do you think they call the game differently when they're reffing a game in the Pac12 or MW? I didn't look up MW or Pac-12 teams on those rankings.
