Hey, that is what happens when you have the number #2 Monkier on your back, you are a target by all eyes. I think their run defense did not look very good. Teams with big lines and good RB's should have their way with MSU.

I was in Bozeman Thursday and it seemed pretty normal--a lot of guys looking to cut out by noon so they could do some rock climbing, one of my meetings had to be rescheduled so the CFO didn't havr to rush back from volunteering at her daughter's school.
Bozeman isn't like Missoula. There's a lot more people there living out their Rocky Mountain Fantasy who have no connection to the U. As always, I saw more roof racks than people wearing cat clothes.
Was it a football day? Sure. Were the bars and restaurants empty because MSU had a night game? No. There was a whole lot of Bozeman too busy doing its own thing to care about the cats.

One can look up to the leadership of both schools to know where there limits lie. Unfortunately the ceiling is lower west of the divide. Just look at enrollment numbers.

I lived in Bozeman for several years, it doesn't have near the community support that UM has. More people are interested in how to make the place a glorified ski resort town than a football town. They remodeled their stadium, have increased fans attending games, local newpaper has upped the coverage on game day they and have a good football team right now. They have become more competitive, but don't kid yourself, game day atmoshpere in Bozo is nothing like Missoula. Not really close. Wa-Griz is still a very special place.

Haveagrizfan is the most objective poster on here by far. To say the Boz people do not care or support the Cat's is fantasy. To say they do not have a good team this year is also fantasy. I do not believe the damn hatred by some fans of each side toward the other. Bozeman does a damn good job of supporting the CATS. Granted they have not had as much success as long as the GRIZ being supported in Missoula.

Like or hate each team, give credit where credit is due. These are 2 programs this state can be very proud of over the last decade. I don't see MSU sliding this year or anytime in the near future. The reality of it is, the GRIZ have to step to get back the level the Cats are at. Amazing how hatred can blind some fans.

Hammer you are right about what they have or have not done. You have the common sense not to add that Bozeman and their fans do no support them. Just because a program has not had as much success, does not mean their fans do not bust ass for their team also. Bozeman, and their fans do support that team well, and the support is getting stronger every year. :thumb:
