Attendance

I would bet there would have been a few hundred more people there if the parking attendant in lot P didn't have his head up his A$$.

There is way too much Reserved parking at the bball games, there is hardly anywhere to park. I think there would be more people too if there was more general parking.

just to let you guys know, the big parking lot that is designated for parking pass holders, I just asked if I could park in there and they said as long as I parked in half farther away from the arena. They were lettng a bunch of people do this. Just ask next time!!

At some of the games that have had it marked that only the front half of that lot is designated as reserved parking. Parking was really bad on Saturday. I ended up parked at the UC. Next time I'll probably just walk.

Having attended most of the home games this year...

Here are my major concerns:

1. I am sorry but the environment at griz games is horrible. If I wanted quiet, I would go the library.

2. I think Hogan screwed himself and the program over. The amount of people sitting court level is pathetic. He gave all those tickets to corporate sponsors and big wigs who have no real desire to attend games in any regularity. Yet the bulk of people only buy single game general admission and sit in seats that are the worst in the house.

3. The home court advantage in which we used to enjoy so much is gone officially. Students don't come to games, the diehards don't attend anymore, and no one is loud. One of the hallmarks of most Grizgames in the 80 and early 90's is that the crowd would make it impossible for other teams to think. Now instead of making the enivornment we wait until the Griz do something to good to get us going.

The quality of the team is good, better than in the past four or five years, and have a chance, but frankly the people hogan thought would continue to come to games after the remodel don't. It is going to take this program a long while to get back to the type of crowd that made the place famous. Cause frankly there is no environment at the game anymore. No excitement, energy, or anything. No scoreboard or lighting system is going to change that.

I thought this year would get us back to that level, but I don't see it.

The west 1/2 of lot P (across from adams Center) is open parking - has been this way as long as I can remember. The east 1/2 is reserved. The sign even says parking on the right is reserved as you go in.

Saturday they had someone new working there, who either got wrong instructions or didn't understand what he was told. Either way, he wouldn't let anyone in without a pass. I got there @ 6:50 and the west 1/2 was empty. Despite everybody who had ever been to a game telling the pinhead the west 1/2 was open, he insisted it wasn't. Created huge traffic back-ups, and limited parking.

I dropped of the wife and kids, parked the car, then went back to AC and talked to one of the ticket takers, who at that point had heard this about 1000 times (along with people pissed off about how long it takes to purchase tickets).

He went out with me and told the parking attendant that the west 1/2 is open, let people park there. When I moved my car into the lot (which by this time was about 1/3rd full and 15 minutes before game time) there was a cop there with the parking attendant and he was letting people park on the left with no problem.

The sad thing is that if you were a casual fan and this was the first game you went to, traffic and parking was such as hassel due to this one guy, you probably won't have any desire to go to another. Combine this with the glacial pace at the ticket window, and $8 (for everybody, kids included) to sit anywhere but GA, adn it is a miracle they draw as many as they do.

But still, I'll be there this week for Jackson St.
