Speed? He runs the 40 4.55-4.59. He also had a terrible knee injury. This kids career may already be over.

That's actually pretty fast and who knows what he actuall runs... Doesn't matter anyways, I'm more interested in explosiveness and agility and this kid appears to have it. I like that he can change directions without losing much speed and gets to his top gear quicly. Knee injuries can be overcome if you put the work in, especially if you're 18. I'm sure a guy like you could tackle him though... just as easy as it is to takle Dan Moore, right?
On some sites it has Morales listed as 155 lbs. That is tiny. Nice comparison to Dan Moore though.

I had found this and posted it when Ari's name first started surfacing last Summer.

I love his blocking. Especially on the kickoff return, somewhere around 8:15 into the video. He's a deep returner that doesn't get the ball so he flighs up-field with his hair on fire actually looking for somebody to get after and block. That is so uncommon these days, it's hard to find somebody with that kind of desire on KOR anymore (actually wanting to assist the retuner), especially from a deep returner that doesn't get the ball.

He shows really good effort blocking on offense as well, blocking to the whistle and even getting some pancake blocks. He's not afraid to get after defenseive ends or linebackers.

Now I know why I've heard some in the recruiting business say that Ari is the total package.

That makes it sound like the staff will not be implementing the drop back pro-style offense any time soon.
With all due respect can we drop this notion of "drop back" Pro offense. Hell, the OCs of the best teams in the NFL dont run a traditional pro offense anymore. You are showing your age my friend. Let it go!
It wasn't my notion, others have said that's the style of O we need to run with gustafson at the helm. I'm kind of partial to this new fangled spread-pistol-zone read option thingy that's taken over the country. The one that ol' Nicky Saban says isn't safe cuz big strong football players could get hurt running that many plays a game 8-)

“Every school that passed me up will see what happens. Because nobody will work as hard as me. Montana believed in me through this whole thing. And I feel like this is redemption to make up for missing my Senior year. God has truly blessed me and I am thankful for the coaching staff at Montana.”

This is, IMHO, what makes this kid worth his weight in gold.

I do not see him as a starting RB for the Griz, maybe a slot receiver or such.

That's of what I see, as well:.."may-be a slot receiver."

...he did have the likes of the Washington Huskies, Utah Utes and the Princeton Tigers sending (him) information: < http://recruiting.scout.com/2/1170671.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Dear JCU27,

What?! Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until Ari decides it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

Sincerely,
Adrian Peterson

Yep, the kid can play and we are getting him as a walkon! :thumb:

Love his heart, his chip on the shoulder and his raw ability. Reminds me of a few other Montana walk-ons.

The Billings Gazette ran an article a couple years ago about a Montana high school football player, Class A or B, can't quite remember which Class but he went up to Canada for his third operation on the same knee, other knee was uninjured, wherein they have a procedure up there that uses rubber instead of anything else that they've been using up to now and he was back running Track & Field in eight months after rehab sayin' that his repaired knee felt better and stronger than his uninjured knee, so it could be possible for a 99.99 % recovery. If so...

Right on tourist! I commented that I loved that quote as well. In fact, it fires me up!

He looks to have some instinctive things going on that are positives.....makes appropriate cuts based on the position of his blockers, understands how to get to the edge, blocks like he wants to, etc. think he will be a player for da griz.

I agree with you smarsh.

In addition, Ari's straight-line speed is good... but I feel his main gifts are his instincts (like you said), and his great explosion out of his cuts and route-breaks. He's going to be a handful in open space, ala De'Anthony Thomas of Oregon.

I love the Program this kid is from, his video is solid and I love his attitude..........but saying that our newest WALK ON will be similar to De'Anthony Thomas of Oregon is quite ridiculous. And yes, I know some of our best players have been walkons (save it)........I'm just asking that we drink KoolAid with a tad less sugar. Carry on.

I agree. It's December and January tradition to over-hype recruits though.

For those that don't do well with reading comprehension, the original statement was...the Griz plan to USE Morales like Oregon uses Thomas. No one suggested he WAS Thomas.

You have to be careful what you post on this idiot fest that is eGriz, there will be someone who will twist your statement into something it's not.

I'm reposting this from an earlier find:

Bellevue, WA played Oaks Christian (CA) in the Mission Viejo Football Classic in 2011.

Check out Ari Morales break 4 tackles enroute to a 23 yard TD run. The first two tackles Morales breaks is Army All-American Jordan Payton #4 (now with UCLA) and 4-star UCLA commit Cameron Judge.
