As cool as it would be to have gameday in town, my question is this: does Gameday have any more positive impact on the program than just having the game on ESPN does?

I see this thread turned out entirely opposite of what I intended.

The intent was a hope for GRIZ, NDSU, and FCS fans to work together in trying to make this happen. Instead, it has turned into a pissing contest among fan bases. I guess I am 1 of the few who would like to try making this happen.

When the entire country sees Eastern Washington on ESPN playing in front of a high school sized crowd in a high school quality stadium, it solidifies in their mind the FCS as a joke.

If you guys can't bring more than a couple thousand to a playoff game, I find it hard to believe you would bring enough fans in to pull of an impressive Gameday.

Given the somewhat embarrassing lack of coverage and hype ESPN gave the FCS National Championship, there's no way they bring gameday to Missoula. NDSU won their 4th straight and got about 30 seconds on sportscenter. FCS just doesn't sell.

NDSU getting gameday for a 3rd year in a row would be complete bullshit...big time schools like Alabama, Texas and many others would be lucky to get it 2 years in a row.

There were an estimated 9k NDSU fans in attendance last year for College Gameday and Herbie and Fowler both said it was the largest they have ever seen and both years among the most fun. A number of friends in know ran into those guys downtown at the Hodo and they mentioned how excited they were to come back in 2014.

Some of those big time programs you named draw a few hundred fans and it looks like shit on TV. Sorry, but I think it is bullshit to say you think it isn't fair when their fans clearly do not care.

Easton Stick, probably the most highly touted recruit NDSU, verbal committed to NDSU a few weeks after 2013 Gameday. I read an article somewhere about him and RJ sitting on a couch together watching ESPN Gameday and Stick later turning down Rutgers to go to NDSU.

It definitely helps recruiting.

FWIW.
Last year EWU pushed hard to get Gameday in Cheney for the FCS kickoff game against Sam Houston. The ultimate response / decision received was ESPN's talent (Corso, Herbstreit, etc) wouldn't even entertain the idea because their contracts don't have them start working until September 1. The game was August 28th . Rumor has it Desmond Howard was the only one who said he'd do it. The others said no way.

That would be great if y'all could get it for 2015 though . Good luck!
