Is this a joke? The kittens aren't even in the discussion about the best FCS team ever, by any measure. They're trending toward the top 10. If you look at the dynasties, NDSU has dominated with 10 NCs since 2011. Before that, Appalachian State had a good run in the 2010s with 3 consecutive NCs. Georgia Southern had a 6 year run in the late 80s and early 90s where they were NCs 4 years and runnerup another year, then had another 5 year run in the late 90s and early 2000s where they had 2 NCs, 1 runnerup, and 2 other semifinals. And our Griz had a lengthy run between 1989 and 2011 where we won 2 NCs, 5 runnerups, and 3 semifinals. Youngstown State had 4 NCs and 2 runnerups in the 90s. Eastern Kentucky had a great 4 year run between 79-82 where they won 2 nattys and 2 runnerups. Marshall had a 6 year run in the 90s where they won 2 nattys, 3 runnerups, and 1 semifinal. James Madison had a 6 year run in the 2010s where they were NC once, runnerup twice, and 2 semifinals. SDSU has an 8 year run since 2017 where they won 2 nattys, were runnerup once, and played in 4 other semifinals.
Then there's the kittens. Since 2019, they have 1 natty, 2 runnerups, and played in 2 other semifinals. They also have their outlier natty in 1984 where they hadn't even made the playoffs until that year and didn't made the playoffs again for another 18 years.
Best FCS team ever? Not even close.
