I think most folks rooting for App State would say it is a question of class.

I'm as big of an Eastern fan as they come. I'm young, but I haven't missed a home game since 2009, go to at least one road game per year, and traveled to Texas for the 2010 Championship run. But I'm not one of those people that buys into having to root for a team just because they're from the same state, or conference. I have a hard time ever rooting for the Griz, and within the last year, I have a hard time allowing myself to root for the Bobcats. It's sports and all three teams don't like each other much.
With success, comes hate. Considering EWU, MSU and UM have been the three most successful programs in the conference the last 5 years and the fact that all three schools are seperated by just over 400 miles, it's not easy to put the competitive attitude away for a few weeks during the playoffs. People talk about how it's great for the conference and therefore, we'll root for each other to bring one home for the good of the Big Sky, but I say no way. Having a few fans from other teams say they're pulling for my team just because we're there isn't going to help us win squat.. and it's the same feeling when the roles are switched. IF, AND ONLY IF, at the end of the season, a rival team wins it all, then you can look back and say, great, that's good for the conference. But at no time does that mean I have to root for MSU or UM and their fans shouldn't have to root for EWU either. If you can do that, then I guess you're a better man than me.

Every time we've played App St their fans have been gracious. First time was 2000 in the playoffs I believe. I remember App St fans telling us Griz fans that they would be pulling for the Griz in the NC against Georgia Southern. Never heard FTG or anything else derogatory from them. I already mentioned in a prior thread this year but our 2006 trip to Cheany was a poor experience. Crap thrown at us as we walked by the student section to our seats. Yelling things at us I won't even repeat here. I know there are 1 or 2 good EWU fans but the majority of the ones I witnessed had some work to do on learning the Golden Rule.
I wish MSU would quit using their NC from DII or whatever it was in their total. Doesn't seem relevant anymore. I'm not afraid to admit I don't want to see MSU or EWU win another championship. You guys are the Griz's two biggest rivals. You can root for the Griz when they are in the playoffs I don't care, but as 68Griz said don't tell me who I should root for.

Geddes, I'll try to make the trip if this matchup happens. Have to convince the wife but her sister does live in Spokane so I can use that as a good reason.
Do you have any info on when tickets go on sale and if they can be purchased online. Also it would be cool to sit in the section close to the visiting App State fans.
