NL, I don't think you get it. The chances of said DVD actually landing on my doorstep in the first place are vanishingly small. These guys are trolling for suckers, pure and simple. And the chances of getting a refund if not satisfied?! Ha!
Well, that's all I got for ya. Idk any other way around it other than seeing it for yourself. I think LA Tech (or whoever they played) was the ones selling the DVD. And if they won't give your money back I'm sure, actually 100% positive that you could sell it on Bobcat Nation. I mean, it's their only NC, it's worth gold to some of them.

If he tries to sell a fake DVD of a game that never happened (or otherwise had a different outcome), wouldn't he be doing the same thing as the charlatan who makes the first sale? Out of curiosity, do you have the link?
I'll have to look for it. My laptop took a crap today so I'm gonna have to see if I can find it with my phone. I think I googled 2009 Montana Vs Appalachan State Full Game and one of the first ones to come up was a post on eGriz and there was a link to the site. Something like Myfootballdvd.com or something like that.

Hmm. The DVDs of that game must have "sold out." I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

I wouldn't even have the slightest idea on where to start with that. But I did see that there was a site that had the '84 game DVD for sale. Whether it was actually available or not is beyond me.

Let me guess: I give 'em my credit card info, and they'll send me a copy of the '84 Championship game? Don't you think these shameless hucksters have profited enough on this nonsense?

True. The lesson we're learning here (and it's an important one) is that a program can claim to have won a national championship, and if it was long enough ago, nobody will really bother to check it out until the program claims to have won two more even farther back.

MSU got greedy. It's often the fatal flaw of snake oil salesmen. Had they stuck with one lie, they probably would have gotten away with it.

That's not the half of it CDA....

I don't remember exactly where it was but I recently read where msu has won 46 National Championships. This is a full blown conspiracy!............................lucky conspiracy!

Likewise. But I'm not holding my breath that any cat fan will come in before then with some evidence of the 1984 "NC."
I'll be waiting for a video clip for any of them that wanna prove that they have actually won a ReaL game.

Line #1 of the wiki entry: "This article needs additional citations for verification. Please help improve this article by adding citations to reliable sources. Unsourced material may be challenged and removed. (April 2012)."

Among the unsourced claims: "Eight years later, the Bobcats defeated Louisiana Tech 19-6 in the 1984 Division I-AA title game in Charleston, South Carolina, for their third national championship."

No footnote.

Someone should expose them!! That would be funny if it was taken away from them

That's just sad, really. I think it's bad for the game of football and the entire Treasure State. I have to say, however, that the real victims aren't the deceived members of the public, but the players who gave what little they had to the old blue and yellow. They did their best, even sometimes reaching the playoffs, and then the College sends the message that those moral victories weren't "good" enough by manufacturing this whole mess? I don't know, it just gives me a bad feeling.

THIS!

And what is wrong with mediocrity? Is it a crime to finish is the middle or the near bottom of your conference decade after decade? They played the game, damn it. I place all of this making up of conference and national championships solidly on the shoulders of the msu boosters and NOT on the smallish, hunched-over backs of the overmatched former players! And to be painfully honest, 80% of them never reached the playoffs, but God love 'em they still went out there with those ridiculous uniforms and their piss poor talent and tried to compete! Not wearing (or falsely fabricating) a Josten's Championship ring doesn't make you a loser!

Can't a brother get a participation ribbon!

Great post! It reminded me of a related story that I've never shared with anyone: It must have been 1999 or 2001, toward the end of the streak. Griz were playing the Cats in Bozeman, and I had East or South (or whatever you call it when the field runs in a random direction) endzone seats. During warmups, the Cats were doing drills in the endzone and taking some heat from the Griz fans. Nothing disrespectful; just some scat calls, etc. One Cat player looks up at a group of Griz fans and says flatly, "At least we're out here trying."

I felt horrible because the player was right. It was like beating up on your little bro when he was just excited that you let him come play with the big kids that day. I tried to refrain from hating the Cats too much from that day forward. But when your little bro starts making a few lucky plays here and there, and then starts chirping about it, you have to remind him that he's lucky to be out there. You could have left him home. Even worse would be a situation like the instant one where your parents try to convince the other parents that little bro accomplished something he may not have. What kind of message does that send?

It does kinda make a guy feel bad. Tryin isn't good enough dammit!! Go out there and WIN!! jk. I do have respect for the ones that do go out there with a holy mess of a team and get pummeled and beat to a pulp after 60 mins. I felt kinda bad for ISU last season after they got 70 points ran up on them, not once but twice. And they never gave up. I respect most all players at this level. Granted, sometimes I'll talk some shit but its nothin personal against them.

Just read on BN that MSUs 11 winning seasons in a row is a school record. :thumb: I mean in Griz Nation we strive for accomplishments like 12 Big Sky Championships in a row, but hey give little brother the participation ribbon they deserve. 11 years in a row of NOT SUCKING is a big accomplishment in Bozo!!!

I agree it is a good accomplishment!!! Now try winning 12 conference championships in a row. That's a really really good accomplishment. Winning more games than any other team in the FCS is a really really really good acomplishment :thumb: Do we want to continue to list accomplishments old sport?

There are quite a few teams out there especially in the BSC that think Griz Nation is arrogant. Some are. Myself... I just like poking a little roudy fun is all. But I will give credit where credit is due. CP is gonna be the Griz's only L this season. But it won't be by much. If the Griz beat up on CP pretty bad I'll have to say look out NDSU. GO GRIZ!!!

Back then? Your right one bad season does define a program. Might as well throw the Griz into the bottom of the barrel with all the other mediocre FCS programs. Cats are on top now guys..LOOK OUT LITTLE BROTHERS COMING!!!!
