Why such a hard on for the Griz script?

You do know it's a tradition they "borrowed' from MSU, right?

I for one would like to see something new. These new helmets look sick (just the way they are)! :thumb:

Thats good info to know. Personally partner I don't have wood for the script but theres a considerable number of folks on here who do. I love the huge paw on both sides of helmet like we saw from the spec unis that were posted before!

Yeah, and it's too bad those aren't the jerseys we'll be rocking. I think they're really nice.

I get the love for the Griz script, but I don't get the idea that we can't ever get rid of it. I mean, it really is a complete copy of what the Cats had on their helmets in the early 80's, and I find it kind of funny how a lot of the people who love it also try to give the Cats shit about them copying us (which is true, I will admit).

They don't need to wear exactly what the 2001 teams wore to be "true Griz teams", and I don't think they need the script, either.

New team.
New tradition.
New direction.
New unis.
New helmets.

Ya, borrowed it from MSU like we "borrowed" America from the Natives. More like "took it, made it ours, and made it waaaaaaay better and waaaay more successful". I think that's what you meant to say. :thumb:

No, I meant "borrowed" as in stole it and just kept using it long after they stopped until everyone forgot we copied it and started making it our tradition.

A large number of Big Sky teams used a script back then, but yes, the cats used it before Montana. A lot.of college teams used it, Montana is one of the few that has kept it this long, Tulsa is another one. I personally love The Griz Script and hope it never goes away, but if they want to try something new every now and again I'm cool with it. I love the matte helmets and I think the silver paw looks pretty good.

Me too. Its about time they change it up. I swear if I hear "bring em out" sh!t will hit the fan. That song is so played out. It reminds me when I'm sippin on mushroom tea and I have all of my Disney characters hanging out with me for about 6 hours or so....

I would like to see these used as an alternate, one of these days.

The paw print is bland and high-schoolish. If they go away from the griz script in favor of a graphic, these would be better on the sides of the helmet:

Or the claw rip logo Willie made would look sweet on a chrome helmet.
