Like, I said, injuries are a big part of the game. Preston is a really talented player. Luckily the Cats have some really good depth at this position. Yes, there will be a dropdown but it isn't that great. You guys are salivating over this. Again, like I said, I know it makes you guys all feel good. We will see in November. You guys are seriously underestimating the depth of the Cat's team.

wbtfg, thanks for posting the link. I watched the Griz followed by the "Blue Bobcat Cup." I guess it is a matter of perspective and personal taste but I give the nod to the Griz. Whenever I watch the "Blue Bobcat Cup," which isn't very often, I keep waiting for the marching band and the fans break out in a polka. And a one and a two ...

Bobcat fans keep saying you're so deep everywhere. I think you have confused the term quality depth. Just because someone has talent and you liked their high school recruiting tape doesn't necessarily mean they add quality depth. It could, but...Preston Gale was your starter for a reason. You don't have any other D ends as big, physical, and experienced as him other than maybe your other starter, Daly. It's a bummer, to be sure, but it's kind of ridiculous to assume their won't be a big drop-off. Remember, if his backup becomes the starter then another, even less qualified player has to rotate in at some point. That's how injuries to starters have a trickle-down effect. You might have exciting prospects, but I just don't see much quality depth across your d-line, o-line, or linebacking crew. I'll keep looking though...

Wrong, yes Gale was slated as the starter as he was the best. But, with the talent we have there is not a huge drop off. In fact, it will be minimal. Obviously, you don't have much knowledge about the depth situation overall. Keep looking. You are going to be surprised!

You guys forget, BIGSKY33 is a Cats fan, and therefor not used to making the playoffs, year after year after year like us, this may be why he thinks the GRIZ, after one bad year, are living in the past expecting another playoff run this year. Also if BIGSKY33 mentions the Cats depth one more time...Im putting my nuts in a meat grinder :shock:

Let's not forget that there is a group of students at UM, entering their 4th and final year at UM, who have seen the Griz only make the playoffs once during their time at UM.

Let's not forget that it's a whole whopping 5 of them (Tulley, Kanongata'a, Poehls, Bienemann, Kistler). And a bigger point is that these 5 players will see the playoffs 2 out of 4 years after this season, which is cause for a parade and a key to the city in bozo by m cat standards.

And I know you'd reply that you said "goup of students" and not "group of student-athletes (football players)", but the points still stand...will make the playoffs 2 out 4 years, and the over-celebration for the ho-hum in bozo.

Coe is very good, all Big Sky player, should not be a huge dropoff there if gale can't return. Hayden Vick is an animal but definitely needs game reps to be an all conference performer. Behind them it might get sketchy. As others have pointed out, this definitely hurts but the Bobcats really do have quality depth now, at most positions. (TE is our scariest position right now with virtually no depth.). You'll see our depth when we start playing games.

Regarding "Body Bag" games... that's a myth. Ash states that injuries are more likely when you play down rather than up, and I believe him.

He hasn't hardly played in a game and he's all big sky lol.

Just listening to what the coaches have said about how good Coe is. At any rate, looks like we'll get to find out about a couple things... How good our depth is and how good Preston is when he returns. Sounds like no surgery, MCL, 4 to 6 weeks. Excellent news for the 5th year senior.

It was reported on the bozeman news right after the injury that Gale said he thought it was his MCL, and that he thought we would be back after the cats bye-week on Oct 19.
