Or EWU... Same record and EWU is still much higher rated.

Only in the STATS poll (and maybe other polls). However, the Sagarin numbers (used in many conferences as a tie-breaker) heavily favor UNI ... 8 points higher for UNI (#84) over EWU (#129).Paytonlives said:Or EWU... This is an excellent point.
Typically the Selection Committee has a large emphasis on "What have you done for me lately?".
As an example, an 8-3 team which dropped three straight at the beginning of the season then reeled off 8 straight wins will usually get the nod over another 8-3 team which ended the season on three straight losses. So although So. Dakota has been highly ranked all year they likely would be excluded if they end the year losing 4 out of 5.

The question of are the griz in or out is null as long as they finish 8-3. If you think for a second that money isnt discussed in that selection room youre out of your mind. Nothing is more important to the ncaa than money.
So you have been in the room during the selection process? Also, I couldn't find in the team selection criteria the part about money. Could you help a fella out and post that?

You must not be familiar with the NCAA and how they exploit their athletics and athletes? Sometimes its not all about having first hand knowledge, its about what history has taught us.

You must have misunderstood my question, or completely ignored it.

Probably an accurate assessment. However, we have been lucky in seeing many of the other top FCS teams this year ... they just happened to be on channels we can get on DirecTV. Except for James Madison, which is "scary good," I do not see a huge disparity in talent among the other teams that are likely to get seeds compared to a second tier of really good teams.marceagfan5 said:... The fact that 8 teams are seeded has really changed the money aspect...the only game the griz would host would be the first game, thanksgiving weekend, which is typically a low turnout....$$$ won’t be discussed at all when selecting a team...

You must have misunderstood mine as well.
Include Colgate or Lehigh and you have three teams ranked below the Griz that are already in. It might be tough for the Griz to get in. It will take a dominant win over the cats and maybe some help elsewhere.Paytonlives said:4 Teams have punched a ticket....
Automatic Bids (4/11)
Central Connecticut St. 7-3 (Northeast)
Jacksonville State (Ohio Valley)
San Diego 8-2 (Pioneer)
Wofford (Southern)

Does anyone think it’s possible to contact one of the members of the selection committee? And if it is if someone were to ask them what their position is on the Griz, do you think they’d tell you?DoubleNicks said:marceagfan5 said:$$$ won’t be discussed at all when selecting a team...
Correct. The selection committee is made up of university ADs, not employees of the NCAA. If they have any bias/motivation it would be to get their own team or conference teams in (which with success and exposure could lead to monetary benefit in the future), not who makes the most money since the revenue I believe is split between the host institution and the NCAA (which again, members of the selection committee are not a part of, so they don't see any of that money). Money only plays a part AFTER the teams have been selected. Then the bids determine who hosts.
The selection committee is listed here:

Idaho State's AD is the rep for the west with Haslam being a member of the regional advisory committee.

Very doubtful...
In the past, ADS would do this when their team did not make the field to get a clearer understanding of what they needed to do to improve their teams chances the following year.
