Would be fun to play them again, particularly if they have FCS aspirations

If I remember correctly, it was the first game of the year, and we almost went to the FCS championship that year. If McSurdy and crew had another quarter, I think they would have beaten Sam Houston State that year to go to the title?
I was at the game with my wife. I think we even met EG there, but can't be sure. Definitely met Joe Montana for a dismissive handshake. Can't blame him. Anyway, we were never in that game. JJ's first start as QB1, if I'm not mistaken. The Vol fans were beyond welcoming, and complimentary of our program. It was a great time, and my pregnant wife didn't even throw up after her third kegstand in the parking lot. Trooper.

No it is not.
I'm sticking with the "half dome" idea for our stadium.
FWIW, any late season FBS game (Alabama, Tenn., or Ball State) is a poor idea. If you're going to play them do it early. Late in the season let the kids get dialed in for the playoffs. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the new normal is IDAHO then MT state for our final two weeks each year. :ugeek:

Yeah, part of the problem with this is always the timing. The Griz have had really bad luck with this.
They always manage to play an FBS team when they are peaking. They play UW when they are a FBS playoff team. They play Oregon when they go 11-1, with their only loss to USC. They don’t end up playing a lower level PAC12 squad, like Oregon State this year.
Also, it always seems like these games happen during the year when the Griz are in rebuild mode, with a first year starting QB.
