Exactly, in a normal timeline a rule like this would've been reasonable in a sport didn't professionalize at the highest level. Why even make the rule? People will sue, they will win.
Generally agree, maybe put a dent in the "forever" player bouncing along in the portal, start/restart. Agree but since so much money is now on board in collegiate sports...the lawyers follow!I hope it goes through. Going to be a heck of a legal battle.
Sounds like players that already have their waivers approved are grandfathered in.What is this going to mean for Solo? Does his waiver exempt him?
I suggest taking a second to actually research prior to your rant.Age based. What's the new age, 30? The NCAA is a joke, all style and no substance. I have one reaction whenever I hear 'NCAA': https://tenor.com/search/spit-gross-gifs
Take your pick.
The first year will be the bloodbath for high school kids and then it should improve. This throws a whole different wrench into recruiting strategy.
Can you kindly ELI5 why a soccer team decommitted a bunch of 2027s and it will be a bloodbath the first year for HS kids? My public education is making me reckon that a bunch of olds being ineligible would make room for HS kids, but I know you're saying the opposite. TIA.The first year will be the bloodbath for high school kids and then it should improve.
With the new 5 to play 5 there will be less scholarships or roster spaces available but those kids will begin to fall off a year later. I would also assume that this frees up schools to re-recruit 27 kids to replace other 27 kids. Can you kindly ELI5 why a soccer team decommitted a bunch of 2027s and it will be a bloodbath the first year for HS kids?
