AG - with him or against him

I can’t tell if it’s hypocrisy or irony, or something else, but good lord, lady, you’re doing the exact thing to AG that you're so pissed he did months ago—using social media to rally people against him.

My take is that GG isn't saying anything that isn't truthful, or saying anything that is close to threatening, or providing personal/contact information, she's just stating her view. That is very different from what Alpha was doing or was accused to doing. She is not even coming close to what Alpha did or was doing.

If you don't believe that Alpha's stuff, and the press and complaints he got, have been a big negative for UM athletics, talk to Haslam or Sundberg. Or talk to people like Brint, as I think he may have been told, directly or indirectly, how concerned and upset the top of the athletic department was when this first came out.

I don't think supporting Alpha and his crowd, by dissing GG, who is one of the most sane, informed and articulate posters on subjects like what has been discussed on the board in past weeks, is right or productive either. Maybe some of us are betting off sitting back and trying to learn something, including opposing views.

Good great grand
My prob is I don’t want people starting threads “stating their view” on other posters. Who gives a shit. Nothing to do with this forum and probably against the forum rules. Why does she get a pass? Why not make her her own forum called “toxic masculinity” and she can talk to herself in there all day long and when others want to join in, they know where to go.

If you don't like AG why do you start posts about him giving him the attention he seeks? I have not seen a post from him in a long time so it seems he has moved on. Do you not see the problem you are creating?

Your point is valid. He still steps in and goes on his rants in here periodically. Mostly, he's impotent but last night I saw the photo I shared floating around Facebook and, again, being used to represent the football culture/fans. Ignoring him is a good idea in general, but when his most ridiculous BS is made public, ignoring = condoning, IMO. If one idiot is loudly making himself the voice of the fanbase, not speaking out against it is giving a clear message that it's an accurate representation of the way "we" think. This is why Hauck and Haslam were forced to speak out against it from day one of Hauck's return. If saying "NO" to that kind of rhetoric and inviting others to add their voice is a problem, I don't mind creating it.

I do not have Facebook so what photo are you talking about? Isn't this doing the same thing he did and what you are fighting against?

The picture is in the original post on this thread - dialogue from MB about the Missoula Rises. It was shared by Missoula Rises to show exactly what he and his supporters/apologists represent. It includes all of the typical AG elements - calling the women with different views fat, calling men who give them the time of day "pussies".

I began trying to fight against "this" back in 2012 with a LTE. While volunteering for a group to educate about sexual assault, I was scolded and chastised for being an eGriz poster. I tried to explain that there are many good men and women who post here. But, it's hard to convince anyone of that (especially back then) when you have a bully who is the epitome of misogyny and malice posting regularly; and others standing by, saying nothing. It's changed for the better in here, no doubt. And anyone who follows eGriz regularly can see that I'm not one to be easily offended - I can take a joke, I can handle disagreements and taunting and enjoy that part of football discussions.

However, as UM enters a discussion with those who opposed Hauck's rehire, AG spouting off and being seen as a voice of football fans is bothersome. As an avid fan, I'm fighting against allowing him to be seen as a representation of Grizzly sports fans. He's been quoted in the Independent - his words used as the voice of "the football community". Last night, his blatantly malicious remarks were shared around Facebook. He doesn't represent Griz fans unless Griz fans allow him to. He's supplying fuel to anyone who already believes that Hauck shouldn't have been hired and that the UM AD is conducive to sexual violence on campus.

Good idea, start that forum and let Ggnz, Sundberg and Haslam be moderators so they can lie about facts in the forum as well as the Missoulian. That trio would get along swimmingly.

There was a valid point brought up in an earlier post about negative press, when your AD is 100% lying to the press you know you have a problem. That's not on AG and his "crowd" that is on the university.

I don't do message boards so this will be my last comment on here but this is exactly the kind of lies and disinformation I called you out on earlier. I even sent you a PM to discuss privately but I take it you did this in hostility towards Mike and his "crowd" Just wanted objective people to know who they are dealing with and how dishonest they are when selling their agenda. Peace out bitches

Garrizzalies, you're welcome to scroll right on past any thread you don't want to read.

Omega, Thanks for the PM. I would have responded but you never know what tricks you've learned from your buddy. Altering PMs and sharing, things like that. I have a screenshot of the conversation you mentioned in the PM that you say is a lie. I have screenshots of several things he's said about me for that matter. I don't take his insults personally - it's just because of my gender.

My concern lies with Griz fans, specifically eGriz posters, being labeled based on his words. I am making it clear that I support Hauck and the AD, the team, coaches, etc but I don't support or condone his quotes that are put out publicly as the opinion/attitude of Griz football fans. You don't have to care. You don't have to read about it. You don't have to comment.

Thank you. Please understand that this is unfortunately very topical at the moment and a very divisive issue in the Missoula community. I really look forward to getting back to discussing football. But this is a weight on the shoulders of the football program right now.

My original post (the hideous words from MB) were shared by Missoula Rises and one of the moderators and founders suggested the following : ".. these comments seem like a good jumping off point on Monday."

That's real damage to Hauck, Haslam, Bodnar and the football program.

Here's a quote from a Missoula newspaper when Hauck returned: "You tell me. When UM grad student Lisa Davey started a petition against re-hiring Hauck, the administrator of Griz fan forum Maroonblood.com posted a picture of her next to the comment, “Now seriously tell me this face hasn’t [performed a sex act] for food a few times in her life?” Now that’s a community that has completely forgotten any connection between Grizzly football and sexual violence."

Are we that "community"? I'm not. Everytime he represents Griz Nation in that way, I'm going to make sure it's known that I don't agree with or condone that shit.

Been reading Marlon Thomas' "A Brief History of Seven Killings" so I will state this his way "What sorta bombacloth Tomfuc#ery is this?

No one with a teaspoon of brains or a half dash of decency supports AG1 or Alpha or whatever the bot that sends his nonsense from Krasnoyarsk, Russia, is called. GGNez and Brint and many others make this site worth being part of...it is a football site though isn't it? Or at least sports?

I've derailed more threads than.....no simile really works here.

Okay, I can understand that point, but Alpha has started many threads on multiple posters over the years. Take Growler, for example.

Do you think the forum rules allow posters to say dishonest things about other posters?

Do you think forum rules allow posters to make extreme sexist, racist and homophobic posts? I don't.

I find it funny that people like you, who either violate the rules or excuse your friends while they violate the rules, now try to invoke forum rules. Talk about hypocrisy.

Why do you think Haslam, and Hauck to some extent, addressed the Alpha stuff at the new coach announcement and announcement press conference? Or, did you miss that?

Garizzlies, if you don’t think these topics are valid points to discuss on here, why are there 40 pages between the two main threads and this thread is well on its way to being the #3 ranked thread since the Hauck hire. Stay outta of it if you don’t want to talk about it. Seems to me you do though or you wouldn’t click on it. That’s what I do when I see all the hundreds of mindless dribble threads that I see started on here that I don’t feel like discussing.

PR, this post may be the most 100% post I’ve ever agreed with you on. When your not talking about your great self, I bet your a pretty good guy. :) :thumb:

Good God, GG, charge your God damned phone! 15% is the only savage thing I've seen in this thread. Cavewoman.

But it’s not topical, maybe it was 10 years ago but there is no “problem” now, just a shitshow, and nothing constructive has ever came out of a shitshow (other than the Spinal Tap movie). Or maybe it’s topical on that other website. Why bring that trash here? Not helping
And you’ve only addressed one rule violation (topical), you still need to excuse your breach of the rule regarding making it personal

Regarding derailing, I got a few Facebook friend requests as a result of my LTE supporting Hauck. One guy began messaging me. We chatted a lot. Video chats, calls, texts. We planned to meet at the spring game in April. He messaged me daily from a recent trip to California. He said was divorced for 9 years, hadn’t dated for 2. But I am just what he’s looking for. Isn’t that adorable?

Anyway, I messaged a female friend of his, just to confirm he’s a good guy. Anyway, turns out he’s MARRIED. Failed to mention the wife in many hours of discussion about life, love, kids, etc. what the hell?
