Can't tell if it is a punch or a shove. Shove=justifiable. Punch=punishable offense. The fan was an idiot but the player is protected by equipment that can survive full bore football hits and is likely immensely stronger than your average drunken fan. Ergo, not much physical threat to him and discretion and walking away is the better choice.

Fan should be banned for the season.

I agree. No reason to punch someone in the face. I hope both people involved are dealt with accordingly.

I'm fine with the fan getting punched in the face. Maybe a hard tackle would have been better and inflicted more punishment.

I'm fine with it, too. It's just unfortunate that the UNDSU player decided to punch the fan.

Spent the day driving home so I had only read about this. My first reaction was, no, Morlock is wrong you don't do that. But, after getting home and watching the video I see it as 3 strikes and you're out. What I see on the video is a fan getting into Morlock's face and Morlock swatting his arm away and walking away. The fan ran back up to him and got in his face and made physical contact. Again, Morlock pushes the guy away and walks away. Then the guy goes up and grabs Morlock. Not sure if it was his face mask, but it really looks like the guy grabbed Morlock. Morlock then swung at him. Can't tell if it was a closed fist or an agressive "get the F' off me." But, Morlock gave the guy enough chances. He tried to walk away and the guy kept coming.

The kid is an idiot, if they know who he is they should revoke his tickets. I didn't even realize any fans came down on the field...it must have been a few from the student section? At any rate, this whole thing has now gotten way more press than it deserves.

What a jackass that kid was. How stupid. They'll track him down. I'm sure he'd regretting this already. Hope he doesn't spoil things for other fans. Sounds like it was just the inability to secure the SE corner area to the field.

Agree, but wonder why the personal foul on the extra point after the winning TD.....

He came from midfield. Looks like he was on the Montana sideline and has a pass around his neck.

Not what I saw, but you are entitled to your own reality. "Shove."

From watching the video it's clear he did not come from the SE corner, I suspect midfield or slightly north, and he clearly has something around his neck that looks to be a badge or a pass. Certainly can't tell what it is but I think it is within the realm of possibility that he may have been on the sideline. I grabbed this snip quick and dirty like from the previous video https://youtu.be/-bcHpziyzQY at about the 2:50 mark. At the 2:49 mark when the people from the SE corner were getting about to the 10 yard line and the eastern hash, this guy is already at the 35 yard line, western hash, in the face of one of the referees.

Whoever he ends up being I hope he enjoyed his 2015 Griz experience, because it's over.

So he was presumably a sideline pass holding fan? My assumption was that as well, he looked like a younger guy but not a 17/18 year old recruit, looked more like an early 20's guy.

The entire Griz basketball team (as well as some recruits) also had sideline passes.

Not out of the realm of possibility that it was a basketball player.
