A player should never hit a fan. If that is what happened then the Bison player needs to be suspended. What happens to the fan is Montana's call. As an alum of NDSU, I am embarrassed if a player acts like that.

That's my thinking, too. A player needs to have some more restraint and display better decision making. A dumb fan is a dumb fan, but the player who threw a punch should likely sit for a few games.

Once you as a fan lay your hands on a player, what happens next is the result of your own stupidity. Chase didn't want to push the guy or do anything, he just wanted to get off the field.

No player should ever have to deal with BS like that.

Completely Agree, I hope the U figures out who it was and makes an example out of him. That was way worse than the streaker a few years back and that kid damm near went to jail.

Are u people blind ?

It's over, end of story

I'm not blind. I watched the video of the punch to the face.

Whoever this fan was he deserves to be banned from games, the reason I noticed him get hit was because he also slapped/hit a ref in the face, you can see that in the video as well. He's jumping around and appears to intentionally go after hitting a ref, and then turns to get in Morlock's face.

He pushed him away after he grabbed his facemask. What would you have done?

If the fan physically assaulted the player and the player pushed him away, I agree with you. If the fan was just a loud mouth, then the player needs to walk away.

Wow, just saw that part after a rewatch. Guy is a tool.
Thanks for posting the video of the T-Buff player punching the fan in the face, BTW. It's nice to have video evidence of things.

AJ reports that UDNUSD reports player will not be reprimanded in any form. I'm fine with that. The kid needs his ass thumped a time or two before he decides it time to grow up and quit embarrassing his folks and the U of M.

I'm pretty surprised they didn't decide to suspend the player who punched a fan. I guess they can run their show how they want, though.

If it was a Griz player he'd be in all sorts of trouble, no way around it. Two words....microscope/missoulian

You know after watching this again I'm thinking this kid didn't come from the stands, he might have been one of the guys in the back of the endzone, has somebody else posted that thought?

Deserved or not, right thing to do or not, I'm just glad it wasn't one of ours. I'd be willing to bet this is not over for the player. Agree UM needs to keep fans off the field

You mean one of the redshirt football players?

I'm not trying to make a big deal out of this, but hopefully this incident will make it so Griz fans stop talking shit about EWU fans and that similar incident against Sam Houston last year at the FCS kickoff game in Cheney. Like we've always said, there are dipshit fans in every fan base. You can't judge a fanbase by those dipshits. Let's stop with this pot calling the kettle black nonsense and just be happy that we both have a ton of of good fans that outweigh the few bad ones.

Good win yesterday. Congrats.

See ya in November.

I forgot about that incident! Yeah, that was pretty awful. At least the SHSU players composed themselves.

Now if we could just get your bad ones to stay off eGriz...

After looking again I think that guy came more from the side of the field, they pan away just long enough to lose track of who's coming from where. Probably a fence jumper.

Sad to hear... NDSU fans and team are 1st class. Everyone has some fans that just don't get it. Very unfortunate. Both teams left everything on the field. That's where it should stay.

Takes a bigger man to walk away from a fight than into one. Champions act like champions kids act like kids. If a player actually hit a fan or anyone else for that matter he should be dealt with by his coach. Pretty unfortunate a fan can get that close to the player. Bottom line is a football player should always take the high road and ignore idiots.

That's where I land on the whole issue, too. Dumb to engage a player, dumber to punch the fan. It might be even dumbest not to suspend the kid for punching a fan. I'm not sure that sends a very good message.

Well, it's on video, so I'm not sure how they could claim no punch. #25 clearly hit the dude.
