Adam Jones write up

He was the best running back in the state on the best team. Lives next door to BH and bled maroon and silver. He dominated the Griz.

I would guess he is one of the guys Dane Oliver was talking about when he said some of the Sentinel guys liked MSU for academics. Jones had a nice year, but I would take at least 3 of the UM backs in 2024 over him. I didn't get to see enough of Rocker to figure out how good he is. Looks like the Griz have another good frosh coming too. And then there's the top and highly rated frosh who redshirted a year and then departed before the 2024 season. No room at the in for Jones at UM, and he made himself a much stronger kid after high school or before starting at MSU.

In playoffs, Jones averaged 3.7 against USD in 18 carries. 4.1 against Idaho in 23 carries with 3 TD’s. Was 7-45 against UTM.

Bobby is not egomaniacal at all. That's just not true. In fact, it's total BS. He did not single handedly lose the Griz games this season. Again, just not true, and in fact total BS. I don't know why some people who don't know Hauck, don't know the situation, and don't know what they're talking about, say such incredibly dumb stuff like that. You must be a total idiot.

I am glad you referenced his numbers against good competition. While I am glad for the young man, he seems to struggle when the o-line is not dominant. His speed makes him a homerun hitter - not a guy who can get it down between the tackles. He did indeed get a lot stronger after high school, but has nowhere the strength needed to be a featured back at the division 1 level and seems to go down at first contact most of the time. The other kid they have (Humphrey) is a much better back.
 
I would like to applaud and encourage the attitude that MT kids aren’t good enough to crack the Griz roster. It’s too good for them! Shout that far and wide. More of this, please and thank you.

So for arguments sake let's say Chase Cook from Red Lodge ends up playing well for Griz. He wasn't given a sniff from Cats. Will we then say it is because the attitude that MT kids aren't good enough to crack the Cats roster? Or are there many factors that go into recruiting..like that they already have a lot of scholarships allocated that year towards a certain position group? Or that they have a huge need in another group? Many factors go into it. Cats are loaded at that position group right now so I get why Cook didn't get an offer. Like others said Griz had Gilman and Iverson and Fonoti on the radar. Did Griz miss on Jones? Yep but it looks like it all worked out for him.

To add salt to the wound the Missoula kids have multiple years to play and could haunt Hauck’s ass for years his worst nightmare!!
 
Yep, the chickens are coming home to roost for the winningest coach in GRIZ and Big Sky history !!! He can't coach a lick !!! The sky is falling and Da GRIZ are doomed, DOOOMED !!! And any Montana kid that becomes a Shi##y Kitty because he wants to become an engineer or chase cows 🐄, as opposed to a pharmacist, journalist or forester is just living proof of this !!! ( I guess we will have to ask Pres. Bodnar and The Board of Regents to establish a second engineering school and ag school @ UM so that we can quit losing these Montana kids to the Shi##y Kitties !!!)

What article are you reading? Certainly not the one where the kid signed with the first team that offered him and continued to follow up with him throughout the process.
With regards to young Missoula players with years to haunt Hauck, Rollins is a cat legacy and was never coming to UM after he broke his commitment with BYU, Dolan to my knowledge, was never offered and Crews created a shitstorm with his racist post and had so much baggage he couldn’t attend the school he dreamed of playing for. He’s only a cat because it was his ONLY D-1 option.

Yep, plus this is pretty much a silly debate anyway because heck, even the Cats weren't 100% sure what they had in Jones. I think the general thinking was that this kid came in and worked his ass off, did everything right in the weightroom and to get his body right, and there was never a doubt about his desire and talent. So one year in the program, everyone hopes he breaks out that second year but let's wait and see. With Julius Davis, Scottre Humphrey, Jared White, Elijah Elliot, Colson Coon, and True Freshman Unterrio Latin-Henley... TBH I had Jones pegged as RB4 or RB5. At any rate, he turned out to be pretty good along with the rest of the RB room. I'll concede the griz RB room is pretty good too, but not quite as good as the Cats in my biased view. lol.

Good post. My bias says otherwise:)
 
I’ve been doing a deep dive into all the rosters of the Big Sky for a BSC fantasy football league and I’d agree the scats have arguably the deepest backfield in the con. It’s the #1 reason I’m not anticipating a big offensive falloff next year with TM graduating.
 
I think he was originally recruited at safety. Then got a shot at RB once at MSU. One of best hockey kids in state and a great tackler. He'd be a good db.
