Just my opinion here, but I believe that Bozeman will remain at or near the top of class AA football so long as Troy Purcell is their HC. That's one GREAT high school football coach!

Well that hardware from last year still feels good, if Butte had any type of D this year they would have had a shot at repeating.
Now would somebody PLEASE beat Bozeman!!!!
havgrizfan said:Just my observation, but he's much more of a throwback QB. True pocket passer, STRONG arm, strong presence in the pocket, good under center, very smart, hard to sack because of his size and strength. He is accurate, and from what I've been told, at least in practice, he can make what NFL scouts term "all the necessary throws". He's certainly not the modern-day, dual-threat quarterback you see so much in college football, but he's not lead-footed either. He can move when he has to.
As far as being the guy, I have no clue. He's obviously only a year younger than Simis, so I imagine that will eventually be the battle. I know everybody is super high on Gus, and badly want him to be a starter because a lot of people want a Montana kid to be QB1, but from what I understand, Simis is next in line.

I thought Cook was some super QB that was way too good for FCS...

I watched the first half tonight at Legend...and saw him at Dad's Silver B induction against West this year. He's a big kid but gets pressured easy. When he wants to run though, he can do it pretty well for his size He passed for 301 and Butte had over 500 yards....but 3 turnovers killed them....2 were int's.
