Oh, I agree with you, it does mean getting back to the chipper. I just don't think he ever meant it as being just one year. Even at our height, we were not in that game every year by any means.

I took RTD to mean making steps to get there, which we were very successfully doing until last year. Even Hauck talked about it being longer term plan when he said it. I remember a few years ago him saying that we were on track to his personal expectations.

Obviously everybody, Hauck included, admitted that last year fell short..

I accompanied my son today for a round of golf at the Stock Farm. Couldn't play due to spinal surgery. He played with a member of the Griz 1995 NC team, who is a member of the Stock Farm. This former player, who knows many former and current players, says that Hauck's tough-guy attitude doesn't play well with today's players. In 2018 we were picked 4th in the media and 7th in the coaches poll. We finished tied for 6th.

In 2019 we were picked 5th in the media and 4th in the coaches poll. We finished tied for 3rd.

In 2021 we were picked 2nd in both the media and coaches polls. We finished tied for 3rd.

We all know about last season.

For FCS preseason polls, we were picked 24th in 2018, 25th in 2019, 9th in 2021, and 3rd in 2022.

Outside of the whole "RTD" stuff, I still don't know how these polls suggest Bobby specifically was setting expectations higher than he should have been, unless anyone has any quotes or soundbites suggesting otherwise.

I wasn't trying to stir any pot here...just trying to add to context regarding expectations vs reality.

Ask him who helped bail him out of the Tijuana jail when he was in college, and whose family wired the money to us in San Diego. Mike is a great guy. So was his brother Tim. Both fraternity brothers of mine. Mike and I hung out a bit no when we both worked on Walk St. You are busted as a big liar on this one.

Or, do you think dominance means a 6th place finish in the Big Sky? I think Monte is dominating the mascot challenge..... maybe that's what Bobby meant? The griz certainly have not dominated anything whatsoever since Bobby came back. If I'm wrong, point out what they are dominating today.

As Elrod says, a quick rise to no. 6 and no. 6 in years 2 and 3, and then blip to no. 14. Due mostly to a few losses doe to injured qb. Playoff and playoff wins in each of those 3 years. People who try to elevate conference losses to playoff teams over playoff wins are football idiots. I have zero concern.
