A Good Trend - Portal

I must admit, the coaching staff has done a pretty darn good job with the portal. one of the best trends I’m seeing is that the majority of transfers coming in have multiple years left to play. I think I saw 14 of the 18 have multiple years.
Can only watch old film and they of course have to show it on the field but I feel over all it's a higher level of athlete also. Everyone seems to have good speed

To me the amazing part is the only two "impact" players we lost were Wilson and Fife. IMHO Jackson was a liability...Racanelli WOULD have definitely helped this year...

On a negative note, to this. Them transferring in with multiple years of eligibility means they have more time they can transfer after this season. On a positive note, however, I like what seems to be the athleticism of most of these transfers this year. Been a long time since I have been to Nashville...

Ala Wilson and Rac. Both got some great film to sell themselves up...but as CDA says, that may be the new normal...

Come here, excel as a frosh/soph/junior, and we'll be your stepping stone to bigger things.

This has been my general takeaway too - I really like that they're bringing in guys that can develop over the course of years - not just 1 season. I understand a few transfers are 1 year guys and I would think the staff sees that those dudes will make a huge splash or fill a immediate need, which is great too.

Along with what AZ says, if they are transferring out to bigger and better places after the season, that usually indicates they had successful season. If they were successful, the team was probably successful as well. The coaches then go back to the portal...such is the new FCS football landscape..

The Msla TV news last night interviewed Welnel and Haslam; I thought I heard some one mention $31million in the NIL account. Have you heard anything like that?

Raised 30 million and having 30 million are quite different, if they had 30 million invested producing 1.5 m a year and then raising money to fill other additional demands is the best solution. Then increasing the 30 every year. Just rambling.

They updated the article. Just like we thought, that number was way off and was the amount raised by the entire athletic dept. Come on MTn sports, do better.

Looks like the NIL has raised over $30,000,000. Wonder how that all works?

Big time typo haha - they've updated it removing the $30MM and put this note on the bottom:

EDITOR'S NOTE: This article previously stated that the NIL collective, Good Ol' Grizzlies, generated $30 million for NIL deals. However, that number actually reflects money raised by the athletics program outside of NIL deals.
