I should also add in - this is Rosey's strategy, he wants quick releases. I've seen days where he runs drills with the QBs where it's 3 steps and throw, over and over and over. You can't stretch the field much when the QB is releasing the ball that fast.

Why?

2 or 3 steps and quick release, the WRs aren't that far downfield - you've seen this too AG. There's some options, its not like they're not trying to open it up at times but the predominant amount of offense we've seen is short/medium passes that are generally "safer".

Is Kemp getting anything thrown his way...........haven't heard much regarding him.

Yeah a bit, he's 2nd string WR right now. He'll have good days and then have days where he's not getting much thrown his way. It usually depends on if he's got Goodwin guarding him or not, Goodwin is playing pretty well in coverage.

So If they are not that far down field then put more air under the ball and give them time to run under it deeper. If you change the trajectory you change the game.

There is more than one way to get deep, just ask......................wait...that joke would be wrong.

So Freshman in the two deep: Holmes, Kidder, Schmaing, McKinney, Brez, LaRowe, Weyer, Todd, Henderson, A Richards, J Richards, Lebsock, Addison, Nate Harris......any others Naccarato maybe?

Naccarato is 2nd string slot WR. Also CJ Nelson 2nd string corner splitting time, they rotate him and Dennard. Is Crittenden an rs frosh?

In a spot where I can pull up the roster, here's who I've seen either play or get serious looks at the 2-deep who are frosh or RS frosh.

Ellis Henderson (could start or split at X/Z WR)
JR Nelson (backup corner)
Chase Nacarrato (backup slot WR)
Tyrone Holmes (backup DE)
Hayden Craig (backup TE)
Caleb Kidder (backup DE)
Taylor Walcott (backup X/Z WR)
Max Kelly (moved up to #2 RT)
Clint LaRowe (backup LT)
Nate Harris (starting CB)
Chris Lider (kicker)
Harrison Greenberg (kicker)
Connor Lebsock (backup S)
Addison Owen (backup OLB)
Gavin Hagfors (backup TE)
Jesse Ginn (backup DT)
Adam Brzczeck (backup QB / possible starting QB)
Samson Kalekini (backup RG)
Derek Crittenden (split start / backup DE)
Johnathon Richards (backup OLB - has been bumped back with Owen returning though)
Trent McKinney (starting QB)
Ashcan Richards (backup TE)
Stephen Shaw (punter)
John Schmaing (currently 1st string LT until Poole returns, will go to backup after that)

So you're talking a lot of long-term development with this group. The only real starters that'll come out of this will be the special teams guys, Shaw and Lider or Greenberg, the starting QB which will be Trent or Adam (or both), and Nate Harris. There's guys also that will play a big factor and rotate in a lot like Henderson, Owen, Crittenden, Ginn, Kidder, and Holmes. The rest will probably contribute but might ease into the season as they'e backing up fairly well entrenched players.

Hmmm...Let me think. Struggling in the red zone? ST is suspect too often? Unsure about the QB situation? Thank goodness it is early in the fall 'cause it sounds a little too much like last year at times. Now let's see what we can do to correct all this before it's game time!

Last year finished pretty strong though :thumb:

There are some similarities, last year the QB situation at this point was shaky/unknown. ST was solid but Oline play was a question mark. Safety play was sketchy... although it remained sketchy.

I get it..but didn't you pretty much mention all of them except Counts......

I didn't actually, Counts gets some reps in there, he's our next power back that will follow in Moore's shoes. I didn't name them all though there's also Peavey, Weyer, Detrich, Johnson, Todd, Gamboa, Counts, Harris, Gustafson, Burke, Maus, Butler, Dellaserra, Holt, Lippert, Gratton, and DeBruckyer who are frosh or RS frosh that may have had limited 2nd string reps but are primarily 3rd string right now.

Holy Griz Batman...I guess I'm losin track of freshman :? Counts can do more than Moore....he should get his time in this year and be ready to rock n roll for the Griz next year....btw Counts has power, speed, agility - not just an M&M, and did ya know..Counts can catch :)
