$5.50 a gallon

Hey guys go to www.gasbuddy.com tho compare prices in your zip code. It's the best way to know you are getting the best deal.

This whole gas thing has me rethinking going to the Ducks game now. I'd love to do the whole bus thing but I'm taking my kid and all so that's out. I don't think the really high prices have hit here in Portland, they've gone up about 10 cents in the last day but the highest I've seen is 2.79. This really sucks.

The rip-off artists across the street from my apartment (always about 25c/gal higher than anyone else in town to catch the LA numbskulls going to Lost Wages) shot up over night to $3.17, $3.27, and $3.37. The cheap places just hit $3.00 for 92 octane this week. Fortunately, I can get gas on base for $2.79 (it just shot up a dime this week). Man, this whomps!

I can only imagine what it's like in Frisco, where it's been over $3 for the last year and a half or so.

Put a farmer in the Whitehouse= $6 for loaf of bread;
Put a banker in the Whitehouse= private SS accounts for sure!!
Put another gas/oil man in Whitehouse= mortgage $300,000 house to fill SUV
 
No offense but I think its time to put the party rhetoric behind. Its long been said the Democrats are the party of blame and the Republicans the party of solution. Now is not the time for that. You have President Bush getting his father and former President Clinton together on the hurricane aftermath. Republicans and Democrats from the Gulf Coast have thrown their party lines to the side in order to take care of the situation. It's not a Democrat thing or a Republican thing. Its a "lets take care of our fellow brothers and sisters" thing. Gas has gone up because of our inability to relax and smell the fresh air. A hurricane just helps it go up. Whats 3-6 dollars of gas to us? How about the guy in Louisiana or Mississippi who makes 8 bucks an hour, who just lost his home and family. The guy who may not get home for months. Five to six bucks a gallon aint S%&! compared to that.
 
Just talked to a buddy from costco here in missoula. They ran out of gas within an hour this morning. :o

they were like 20 cents cheaper than the rest in missoula

Seems you missed the point... all that I said was where the money in the end went... I goes to the "OIL" barrons... OPEC and those who own large interests in OIL... hmmmmmm that is not Democratic or Republican... that is fact... The Bushs are OIL Barrons... end of story... by the way, I am neither Demo or Rep.... I vote for the person I believe in my heart will do justice to the office, the country, the Veteran's of this country (I am a Viet Nam Vet), and the State of Montana and it's people. This thread in no way is to belittle the situation that we as Americans face in the and across the South. Any insinuation that it does is pure insanity...

I understand why the raise in prices.... I understand supply and demand.... I understand why the National Oil Reserves.... what bothers me is who is lining their pockets because of this National Tragedy and the list goes on and on.... but this is in no way GRIZ related nor SPORTS related. So I am done with this one and on to bigger and better things...

GO GRIZ and see ya On Friday Night at the Inn on Broadway... I'll be at the game even if I have to walk from Lolo... :D
 
Yes the Presidents family makes a ton of money in the oil business. Arthur Blank is going to make a ton more in sales on rebuilding homes. Hell, the cost of OSB sheeting went up three bucks overnight at my work. Quite honestly any politician will profit from this as most probably have ties to oil, lumber, agriculture, etc. Clothing prices may go up as the cotton industry may have taken a hit. Airline prices will go up as there will be no flights into New orleans for a while. The carriers will need to make up money elsewhere. Seafood prices will go up as the industry took a hit there. Even if gas prices go down we will feel it elsewhere. it's just that gas is the most noticeable. And to live in a big area as the state of Montana is makes it tough. If you live and work in Downtown Chicago it's easier to say screw it and ride a bike.

Lot Z is right next to the stadium. Know where the climbing wall is in the Rec center...that's Z

It is so good a spot and we don't use it properly. We should be having a tail gate. I'm going to work on that.
Right now you can look for a guy staggering around. This is really the sad part ...he drives. Need to do something about that too.

I am starting to change my mind.

Bush family is oil. Period.
We invaded Iraq, but it wasn't about the oil. But gas prices shot up.
Now gas prices are going up further. Hurricane or price fixing unchecked and an administration that is willing to let it happen.


Everyone has a right to think whatever they want. But when is enough enough? How much do you need to see before you decide to call bull-sh!t? George Bush either knows exactly what he is doing, or he has no idea what he is doing. Either way it is scary and I have lost all faith in this man to lead a nation. He is not a leader in any sense of the word.

I know you're a Griz to the bone, Edd, and I love ya for it.


I'll just relate one story: when I was a freshman at the U (actually, I think it was my third freshman year in Missoula :lol: ), we got to watch Roger & Me in one of our business classes. Michael Moore was relatively unknown at the time, so I went into it not knowing anything about him, or even caring much about political or socio-economic issues at that point in my life. I liked the movie and thought Moore had a great feel for bringing out the human side of events and I really thought he was funny. But I was surprised that he, as a guy who presumably researched for years to put an economic impact movie together, seemed to have even less understanding of the fundamentals of economics than I did as a first-year business student.

Later on, after seeing more Moore, I came to understand that the guy is a propagandizing charlatan who can really only be relied on as a credible source of right answers when he's describing the best brand of baked beans to drink (in 36 ounce cans, natch) when you're polishing off a five pound vat of Crisco while watching Dynasty reruns. Anything else, and you're on your own.
 
I'm trying to get my politics out and enjoy the football season but I agree with 2002. Rent the movie Farenhype 9/11. It makes you look at Moore in a different way. And I thought documentaries were to get the story and not be the storyas he was in Bowling for Columbine. I still stick by George. Hell, even Clinton did today. I have nothing against you Edd. You served your country which is more than I can say. I like oranges and you like apples. But lets get ready for Griz football2005 and keep me filled with info as I will not be making back home this fall.
