$5.50 a gallon

I drove to Georgia and back last week. Gas in the Atlanta area was $2.499 as of last Wednesday so if it is now over $5.00 some one is really gouging the public. Teh most expensive gas was in Soouth Dakota where it was already at $2.72. the average price we paid was $2.499 so all this is looking scary now. It will not keep us from coming to the games in Missoula, but sure am thinking twice about Oregon and Idaho.

When I drove by Cenex here in Sidney taking my kid to day care Wednesday morning, gas was at $2.71/gallon. I decided to wait and fill up until after work. Well, last night at 5:30, i ended up paying $3.10/gallon! I may have to eat my words and buy one of those 49cc engine scooters that get like 40 miles per gallon.

40 miles to a gallon! My brother has one and gets 110 miles to a gallon! He brags to everybody about it.

I'm gonna convert my car over to vegetable oil........just grab some leftover oil from Burger King and sift it out.

I heard some story where a guy back twnty to thirty years ago had engineered a car to get 80 miles a gallon. The big three supposedly paid the man handsomly to go away.

I meant to fill up on Tuesday night (gas was $2.55 @ Safeway), but I thought what the heck, I can make it one more trip to Florence and back... filled up last night @ Safeway at $2.69  I drove by Fast Trip Conoco this morning, who usually is a little bit higher than others ~ they're at $2.90 for the cheap stuff! Don't just stop @ the first gas station you see; compare prices a little.

When I left Butte this morning it was still $2.63. However, in Deer Lodge it is $2.74 this morning. They said on Fox last night that some places in Atlanta were over $6.00. Wow. You know that is no where what the gas stations paid for the gas in their tanks. Talked with Grizfnz last night. He is estimating $105 for his trips to Msla and back home just for gas. Those who frequent Bryan and Wendy's tailgate should consider this when making our food pot donation.

Just to back up why street prices are jumping. Conoco has raised their wholesale price 10 cents EACH OF THE LAST 3 DAYS.

Monday, my cost for unleaded was $2.575

Today, it's $2.875.

Denver is around 2.80-2.90 right now for low end. Head up I-70 to the mountains and it is 3.25-3.40 I hear. Gas has been relatively cheap for years, this is what it should cost if not more.

If anyone is wondering just where the $$$$$'s go in the end, you need to rent the DVD Fahrenheit 911. It will answer all.... the poor get poorer and the rich get richer... and so the story goes...

If I didn't know better I would say that our illustrious administration and OPEC created Hurricane Katrina :fist:

the problem isn't all in the Bush administration. The federal petroleum reserve has been opened which may help a little. The problem is women. Women only want to hook up with guys who drive huge SUV's. They aren't into guys who drive hybrids. And forget the guys who ride the bus. As soon as women start hooking up with guys who ride the bus, all men will want to ride the bus and gas prices will come down. It's the law of supply and demand. Seriously though if we were to become a little less dependent on our vehicles the gas demand would not be so great which in turn would make the prices go down.

I cant speak for everyone but here in Missoula guys who ride the bus usually have issues....I.E. they lost their drivers license...LOL or they smell like petchuli (sp) oil and have dreds down to their ankles...but hey who am I to judge?...LOLso im just a gonna keep looking for that white knight in a white escalade...and hey if hes got the $$$ for the car he probably has the money for the gas

hey with that white escalade i bet ya the rest of his money is going towards gas. It would be your best bet to find that white knight with a white honda civic.

speaking of which i filled up on my way to school, gas cost me 33 bucks! :drinking:

For those of you going to the GRIZ vs. Ducks game, you should consider getting on the bus (from Portland to Eugene) that some GRIZ fans put together ~ only $30/person. That's a GREAT deal with the price of gas going up & up.

Here's the information they have posted:

Bus will arrive at Portland Marriott City Center (520 SW Broadway 503-226-6300) Saturday morning at 8:45 am and leave at 9:00 am

Details:
1. Cost ~ $30 per person
2. For adults only (sorry but that is the only way they will allow us to have adult beverages)

We still have spots available so if you're interested, please give us a call.

Thanks,
Boo & Tom Johns
