This thread had gone to seven pages of condemnation and vitriol before there was even a news article describing what had happened. It was a "felony" and they should be kicked out of school. Alcohol ws blamed. Another suggested drug use. It was a "smear" on the entire community. They were "criminals."SoldierGriz said:People can make up their own minds about what you and PR have posted in this thread. They can also make up their minds about what I have posted - no doubt some will disagree. I have thick skin. I have no agenda...just a fan who wants the program to thrive again.
Stitt needs to tell these guys to clean out their lockers when they get out of jail. Selfish personalities like these are toxic to this team, athletic department, university, and state. It's just so stupid and a waste of lives and scholarships.
They have put themselves above their teammates and shown themselves to be selfish.
Haslam had them convicted:I don't think you would be held on a $50,000 bond without doing something.
"A felony is a felony and there's no gray area at all," Haslam said. "It's disappointing. It's really disappointing and it just doesn't reflect the entire team."
Ask the young kids in the house they willfully entered, who were severely traumatized, how they feel about Grizzly football.
Even if these players are found not guilty of the accused crimes, I still dismiss them from the team on merit alone. Being out at this time of the morning/late night doing those kind of activities shows your focus is not on football or your school. The best thing that can happen is to be given reason to reevaluate your life, and being kicked off the team surely should help with that!!!
This is an opportunity for Stitt to make a big statement to his team and community. He needs to make the statement loud, and let these guys go!!!
I want to see swift, decisive and harsh consequences,
I have no idea what "the real story" is, but I don't believe you get a 50 grand bond for Halloween pranks and just partying. These guys clearly did something pretty serious and I feel confident they'll be punished accordingly, by the law, the football program and university. My guess would be we won't see these guys play another down for the Griz, ever.
Breaking into an occupied home to burglarize or vandalize or whatever they had in mind and scaring the shit out of a family in the middle of the night, by 5 large adult men who were probably loaded...yeah that's kind of serious.
Boot em I say no need to hear their side of the story.
They got arrested for breaking into a house!! Arrested... There is no justification for it! None.. So if they were drunk that makes it okay?
There has to be a reason they'd go through so much effort to get into this place.
Unf&@(#ing believable. Kick them off the team.
Of course, people can make up their own minds about fair weather fans that want to impose on young athletes their own rigorous standards that likely none of them have ever met. Makes 'em feel virtuous if they can condemn someone else.Booze fueled stupidity gives new meaning to FCOA.......full cost of alcohol
Of course, just to add an element of irony to the passionate lynching is the fact that alcohol has not been mentioned in any news source. Like many elements on this thread, the charge is fabricated.
