3 Griz Arrested

They traumatized an entire family. Keeping them on the team does more harm than good. Let them stay in school, but football should be out of the question.

this country is ridiculous. Isis beheads christians left & right and no one cares. yet 3 dumb jocks went into a unfinished house snooping & thankfully that owner wasn't alphagrizz.. & people freak out

case closed , move on.

signed. BisoNation. (and most rational human beings)
BisoNation...perhaps egriz should be renamed "Lynchnation." Innocent until proven guilty is too frequently a foreign concept on egriz. :?

There's a big difference between "trespassing" or "criminal mischief" and "burlary".

Those wanting to just summarily execute these three are assinine.

Executed? No. Held accountable? Yes. They are right where they should be. Suspended immediately. The timing will likely ensure that they will be suspended for the rest of the year.

Also this is different to me than the MSU freshman. These were upper classmen, not 18 year olds away from home for the first time.

I see now scenario whatsoever that would justify them being in that house and not being suspended.

I have to disagree with you here. In the MSU case the individuals were running from the law after egging houses (up to no good to begin with). Then to avoid the cops they ran through somebody's house and tried to hide there. Those are completely different actions and intentions than walking into a renovated building while waiting for a ride home. They certainly weren't running from the law after bad behavior. I don't see this as different because of age, rather it is completely different because of circumstances.
They didn't walk in. They went through the trouble of climbing a ladder. Great example of what iltc is saying. Quit changing the story.

I can't help but notice that PlayerRep writes a lengthy post about MSU players doing something similar, asks what their punishment was, and when it's answered that the Bobcat players had their scholarships pulled and were suspended for a year, that comparison is magically forgotten. Nope, no reason to bring that up again!

That's about as chickensh*t as messageboard posting gets.

Clearly you and I disagree about this matter and I'm okay with that. Sorry, I should have been more clear than using the term "walking in". My casual wording was not an attempt to change the story, however. I have to ask - are you personally involved in this case? Do you know the victims? I'm just trying to figure out your angle. I am not involved with this case nor am I trying to sweep anything under the rug, but I think this has been extremely overplayed. I will concede that if people were in my house uninvited at night that it would be a bit disturbing and they would be damn lucky I didn't shoot them, but there are clearly other circumstances at play and it appears the intent was not to harm anyone or anything. This would be close to a non-issue in virtually any other city in the country. End of story...

what if i offered the possibility that these guys picked that spot they thought was vacant and the girl they wanted to meet them for a gang bang or a raping?!

I am not even sure why the MSU incident is even being brought up....it has nothing to do with this incident...
Probably in reference to the infamous double-standard. You remember, MSU was the 60th most dangerous campus in the nation back in 2010, UM was 454th, MSU with three time the reported rapes as UM, but "somehow" UM got tagged with "Rape Nation." Oh, and the MSU basketball player that raped two 14 year olds and got 90 days, vs Bo Donaldson's 10 years. You know, all the reasons that UM athletes are held to the "high standards" that result in these lynch mob outbursts for behaviors that, years ago, would have been treated exactly as they should be, stupid actions by young guys. They are suspended from play. We'll have to see what happens next.

There are no stupid actions by young guys now. When once a couple of guys fighting were hauled down to the gym to finish it with the gloves on NOW the school cop refers them to youth court and on goes the list.....

This statement pretty much validates my thoughts on ILTC and his mental capacity...

Things have changed since way back in 2010...and because of this past history is exactly why things are being treated differently now...it is not a comparison...it is an evolution...

Very true. Cops use to bring you home and let the parents deal with you. Not anymore. Times have changed

Pabst said hearing delayed upon further investigation of what charges are warranted. Did someone already say this? I didn't catch up on entire thread.

Clay Bignell, 19, of Avon, and Daniel Ogden, 18, of Kalispell were allegedly egging homes when authorities spotted them and a chase ensued, police said. As Ted Sullivan and Camden Easterling reported in the Bozeman Daily Chronicle, the pair allegedly broke into Krauss’ home to escape, crawling through a basement window before they were arrested.

Three other incoming freshman were arrested as well, said Cathy Conover, MSU’s chief spokesperson.

Bignell and Ogden are on probation for one year and will not be allowed to play football during that time. The university also ordered the players to apologize to the homeowners and clean up after the egging. All of those arrested have been charged with misdemeanors.

“They bring discredit to their team members when they do something like this,” Conover said. “It brings a shadow on the community.”
Bignell got back on the team, became team co-captain his senior year, came back to MSU in 2013 as an asst football coach, and is now, I believe, at Northwestern, a graduate asst coach.

Ummmm.....yeah.....so....

So if MSU is the valid comparison, all three Griz players should have their scholarships pulled, and the careers of the seniors are now over.

That was PR's point, right? :thumb:
