3-3-5 Defense

Having trouble with the computing machine, fella? Get one of the neighbor's adult grandkids to help you out. Maybe they can remove your lie about playing varsity baseball at UM while they're at it. Listen, Kem's admittedly old, but at least he's honest and knowledgeable. You could learn two of those three things from him, lil' guy.

You're just jealous because you couldn't even make the high school girls flag football team. Your football IQ is room temperature. I played varsity baseball at UM. There have been three posters in the past who conformed that fact, because they all played with me. You must have missed it while posting your jokes on Facebook. You remind me of a penny...... two-faced, but worth nothing.

And, I am 5'10, 175, and I have heard that you are 5'8", 250. What a waste of good protoplasm!

I see you talked to Becca. The HS girls flag FB passed on me for three years. Everyone here knows I had a decent 40 time, and great hands. But Becca was gonna be Becca. She got all pissed that I didn’t want to be exclusive, and that was it for my career.

Lose some weight, fatty. I’ve seen you digging for shit on camera, and it’s gross. I’m 7’2”, and a healthy 275lbs, but I don’t have to tell you how easy it is to be a fucking lying scumbag.

Anyway, I’m not a huge fan of the 3-3-5, but I understand why it’s employed. Agree with Sask that it’s a chicken-egg situation. It’ll be fun to see what’s rolled out in the fall. My guess (hope) is that we won’t really have a “base” defense, and just strive to create chaos whenever possible.

These days you couldn't even be part of the girls high school flag football team not being born a female. The good old days.

Jessie and me have both asked any of you to state that RH is a great pass defender, and all we hear is crickets, and personal insults.
Nope. Don’t lie. Who said he was a “great” pass defender?
We’ve already covered this.
You and Jessie’s girl formed the megazord because you are both decades-long, Hauck-hating, multiple-band trolls who believe RH is only starting because his dad is the coach. Those aren’t personal insults. Them’s the facts.
I mean, you can believe and spew whatever you want but don’t pretend like Al Gore hasn’t tried to flush you down the cyber toilet since he invented egriz. You’re both like unsinkable turds that Mr Gore continues plunging and rootering but they just keep rearing their ugly heads

I think that had something to do with their decisions to cut me three years in a row. I was 7 foot nothing, 200 and nothing, hardly a spec of girls flag FB ability. I thought I wasn’t being played because of my gender. I got all filled up with a lot of attitude so I quit. Still not a week goes by I don't regret Becca getting the best of me (aside from the nobbers in my truck behind the gym, because those were cool), and I guarantee a week won't go by in your life you won't regret walking out letting them get the best of you. Do you hear me clear enough?

Okay, I'll admit that I haven't clicked on this thread after I saw who the OP was. But I'm glad I finally did just to read the hilarious posts from Sask, Garizzlies, CDA and AWF. Funny stuff, men.

That's what it's about for sure.

Still awaiting any of you football geniuses to explain how Robby Hauck is a great pass defender. I won't hold my breath.......

Fine, then, genius, explain your position that elephants are orange. If you are so sure they are orange, I'd like to read your explanation.

I don't know why I am stepping into this, but here is goes....

Robby Hauck is a above average pass defender (I don't think many players at this level are "Great" pass defenders... Maybe 2 a year in the big sky)

1) He plays zone pass defense well--- He has enough speed to cover an area, and isn't afraid to get in there to make a tackle. Does his energy lead him to be out of position? YES, but that is why there aren't a lot of "Great" DB's in the big Sky (or in FCS)

2) He is very well trained on the X's and O's of the 3-3-5 defense. It is a VERY hard defense to learn, and play well, and if everyone doesn't have their assignments covered, then is makes safeties and DB's look really bad (even if it isn't on them). Anything that makes it past the front 6 needs to be picked up immediately by the person assigned to it. If this doesn't happen, that is when you see back-end players having to think on their feet... As smart as a player is, you don't want them actually thinking out there, you want them to just flow... Hauck overthinks at times, and that is when you see him chasing. He needs to improve his run stopping skills, and have more faith in the front 6 to get the job done. You saw that a LOT in the last Cat/griz game. Him trying to do to much, because others weren't winning their battles, or were out of position. He jumps running lanes that he thinks aren't being covered, and then is out of position when they cut back... this will be a flaw in this defense no matter who you put back there. If the D-line and LB's aren't getting it done, it will actually look like it is the DB and safeties faults..

A great and informative post, but nothing about why Dill is so sure that elephants are orange?

Taking RH off the field on ANY down is among the dumbest thing I've heard in a while. These are his pre-season accolades....and he is only a RS Junior.

Preseason All-Big Sky
• Phil Steele 3rd-team Preseason All-America
• Phil Steele 1st-team Preseason All-Big Sky
• HERO Sports Preseason All-America first-team
• HERO Sports Preseason All-Big Sky first-team

Not only is he a tackling machine, but he is exceptional in the backfield...sacks and TFLs. Those matter on 3rd down...

Oh, so coach's sons never receive preferential treatment. NEVER! He must earn everything he gets. I get it. I'm Jessie now? Hardly. But your post displays perfectly the venom against some posters who dare to state that the coach's son just might have a few deficiencies in his game. It's a shame that intelligent football discussion can not occur without the predictable "don't criticize RH, he is All-Conference"....... which to some means that he is the second coming of Troy Polumolu. As I said in a previous post, RH is very good defending the run game, is a hitter like his uncle, and has a nose for the football. However, if you can not see from watching previous games that he is not a good pass defender, then you are either not watching, or unable to evaluation what it takes to be a good pass defender. And, I don't seem to be the Lone Ranger in my statements about RH.

Deon Sanders was an All-Pro CB for 10 years. Was he a great tackler? NO! Was he great at run support? NO!
All right Chachi, I'll try to slow this down for you. Like your county school district did in grades 1-3 (see that's how you do a cut down line without sounding homophobic).

In the 3-3-5 there isn't anything called a hybrid in the DB's, there might be an outside LB who lines up at DE but that makes him a hybrid like LT was a hybrid for the Giants.

We play a middle safety, normally Robertson, who can read, drop or flow. That's why he arrives in a hurry and angry!. We tend to creep Fouch into a slot coverage on the field side, it allows him to run support or drop depending on down and distance. RH is often cheating strong side but with support responsibilities, this means that often he's in a chase position on play action or if our front can't "get home".

Just because the keeper in soccer, the fullback in rugby or the center fielder in baseball is the last guy you see doesn't mean it was his fault.

Slow it down......... says the non-athlete from the country where football is played with a round ball. The only slow-down you know about is your urinary stream flow. Now get some sleep. You've already surpassed your 15-hour daily egriz quota.

Sask just flat out owning the pickle boy.

Hilarious how the members of "the club", always appear in these threads to slap each other on the back and make themselves feel relevant and accepted. You are all pathetic losers At least you have each other. ROFL. I live in your heads, rent-free, and am the reason that you losers spend 14 hours a day trolling this site. The rest of us laugh AT YOU, not your lame-assed attempts at humor. I am smarter, better looking, more successful in life, more affluent, and just a better human being in general than you losers. So, keep elevating yourselves by telling each other how you own me. What a f_cking joke! The entire bunch of you pin heads are a few neurons short of a synapse. Oh, and none of you are athletes, so I best all of you once again! Keep trying ladies, but NO CIGAR for you!
