2027 Montana Recruiting (20) Verbals & (21) Offers (2) 2028 Offers

Walker is a Griz!
Surprised it took as long as it did. He was one I thought would commit immediately when offered. A comp for Walker if he plays LB would be Dante Olson...but I think he's a better athlete than Dante. If you want my honest opinion on this class, Walker and Kanon Reichmann are the Top 2 recruits in terms of ceiling. They both have a little of that "they'll be great anywhere you put them".

Walker wanted to be a Griz. But BH showed him zero love. BK did an amazing job but Walker was waiting to see what happened with the contract. As soon as BK got the new contract it was a lock for Walker. If he can figure out the mental part of the game he has a chance to be an all American at LB.

BK getting Almquist, Olson, Pelc, and King is the best foursome of in-state recruits for the Griz since the 2015 class when Jesse Sims, Colin Bingham, Holden Ryan, and Dalton Daum all committed. Throw in Eli Kasberg and you could compare that one to Josh Sandry from the 2015 class. Sam Sirmon, Jack Ryan, and Brayden Zikmund make this the best in-state class for the Griz since that 2015 group. In order for MSU to have a shot at winning the in-state battle once Hauck left, they needed to pull King, Almquist, or Olson and Griz closed the door on all three. Enjoy this one guys and I'd honestly like to see what this group can do the next five years.

My hot take? Jack Ryan might turn out to be the best one out of all of them.

It’s funny we are putting Ryan at safety and Olson at linebacker but makes sense too. I think Ryan is one of those hard hitting guys that breaks in as a special teams ace to begin with.

Hell yeah. Hopefully this is a good in state class because we’re spanking some bobcat ass
Would've loved to swing one of them over to Blue & Gold but these kids had maroon in their blood. Kennedy deserves all of the credit for doing what he needed to do...honor the legacy kids by actually recruiting them and securing the ones that have Griz fandom/alumni in their family. Still boggles my mind Hauck was making it complicated. Griz are winners of the overall in-state battle by far.

As far as spanking our ass, I'm plenty happy with our Top 3 in Reichmann, Leibrand, and Humphrey. A lot of riches to share in this in-state crop for 2027. Also several more gems to go get to round out these in-state classes.

Ryan is a "safety" but he'll be a nickel of some sort. If Hauck was still around, he would've moved mountains to only get Jack Ryan in-state. Undersized safety/nickel who plays like a wolverine? Sign Hauck up for those ones every day of the week. I think he's the best tackler in the state.

I agree with you. In three years, we will see where they are. This is going to be a better rivalry.
