2027 Montana Recruiting (19) Verbals & (22) Offers (2) 2028 Offers

Would've loved to swing one of them over to Blue & Gold but these kids had maroon in their blood. Kennedy deserves all of the credit for doing what he needed to do...honor the legacy kids by actually recruiting them and securing the ones that have Griz fandom/alumni in their family. Still boggles my mind Hauck was making it complicated. Griz are winners of the overall in-state battle by far.

As far as spanking our ass, I'm plenty happy with our Top 3 in Reichmann, Leibrand, and Humphrey. A lot of riches to share in this in-state crop for 2027. Also several more gems to go get to round out these in-state classes.
Yeah I agree. The Cats didn’t do bad with instate they got some real quality and high upside kids so maybe we got better overall but it’s not the Cats are getting their ass kicked instate like some are saying.

I'll say this though...the Griz were very much so in on those three I mentioned and at one point all three were leaning Griz in some fashion.

Griz fans right now

Walker wanted to be a Griz. But BH showed him zero love. BK did an amazing job but Walker was waiting to see what happened with the contract. As soon as BK got the new contract it was a lock for Walker. If he can figure out the mental part of the game he has a chance to be an all American at LB.
Like....how?

It boggles my mind, too. The biggest failure of Hauck’s total tenure was his failure to adjust in state recruiting philosophy once the cats became very competitive. As competitive minded as he is, his stubbornness cost him, and us.

Hats off to BK for recognizing and adjusting, hes done very well thus far!

Could almost argue it cost the Griz and him a championship. But that's for a book some day!

I’m super stoked about Walker. He’s been the one I’ve wanted all off season. Would love to see Lane flip as well. Who knows…maybe 🤞🏽
Flips are very rare. Dalton Daum from Cats to Griz in 2015 and Gunnar Brekke from Griz to Cats in 2013. Junior Bergen from Griz to Cats in 2021 which happened after Choate left. Not sure a new 4-year contract is going to change that but you truly never know. Not to be a jerk but heard rumors about a Griz recruit considering flipping to MSU due to MSU upping their scholarship $$. I guess we will see in December when they sign.

I wasn’t saying that they happen often, just being optimistic/hopeful 😉

Junior Bergen is another example…coaching change helped that one though

Just my 2 cents-- but it seems like Hauck's mindset was that if he had to sell a kid to want to come to UM then he didn't want you. He thought everyone should want to be a Griz. The fact is MSU is such a better institution and football program than during his first tenure. Back then it really did seem everyone wanted to be a Griz. Maybe in some way, Hauck working harder to recruit kids to UM would have validated that fact, so he didn't. Only way it makes sense to me why he barely talked, if at all, to many of the kids BK has recruited.

Pound for pound and in order, the two best athletes in the class are Armbruster and Olson. They're going to do some special things together on this defense.

Literally broke off multiple Griz legacy families by not even offering PWOs. The Dolan and Ortt deals are wild because its not like MSU offered scholarships to those kids.

Anyway, that's comfortably behind you guys. Kennedy now needs to go win some games and develop an OL/DL. I think the OL is going to come together faster as Brent Myers is one of the best at his job at this level.

Thats my point exactly. He got all the Montana kids when it was easy to do so and most of the kids wanted to come here anyway. Then when the cats started competing to get the best kids, he never adjusted and remained stubborn. Very strange. All good, im glad we're adjusting now!
