Wow! Pitino seemed to love “Bells.”Dylan Darling most recently the hero of St. Johns run in the NCAA tournament, and in the past of Idaho State has put or has entered the portal once again.
All three of our recent transfers chose higher level mid majors over Weber coming out of HS. We are now in the same boat as your Griz. We are in need of some big men. I suspect that they are a bit harder to come by. The third guy, not yet listed on page one, is Mason Abittan, a 6'6'' guard out of UNLV. 3.86 stars, red shirted his first year. Has 4 to play. I believe Aaron Powell has 2 years yet to play.
This Sh!t just seems gross.Just a couple of things to reiterate what I posted about yesterday: Things are nuts in the portal market.
I saw that tweet earlier today and it said Montana State and I was all bummed. Boise State has already brought in Demari Wheeler-Thomas from NDSU. What's this kids role if he goes to Boise? Not sure what Virginia Tech has done so far but if it's between us and Fresno State then I like our chances! He'd be a big get for us!
That's interesting. Huskers have a lot of pieces coming back and Betts has hardly played in 3 years. Hope it works out for him!
We don’t have the Twitter sleuths the way the Football board does, so no one knows.Any news for the Griz?
Shopping the portal is a whole different game than recruiting freshmen. Most of the good players are looking for a payday and you negotiate with their agents first. They are not likely to visit unless you have already settled on a price and they won't commit until it's in writing. They don't usually announce offers until they commit. Sometimes they put out a list of interested parties, just to let all the coaches know that they may need to up their offer. My guess is that it will evolve into contracts, just like the pros, and that someone will have to negotiate some standards and regulations of some sort.We don’t have the Twitter sleuths the way the Football board does, so no one knows.
The P4 already have contracts that’s why you have seen some schools sue their players. Some schools in the current MWC/future PAC have contracts as well.
