Exactly.why would you recruit knowing you have no spots to offer unless coaches know players are not returning.

Anyone that hasn't heard of Cal Baptist yet isn't paying attention.
I'm tired of going after guards all the time. Is it asking to much to pursue and offer a handful of paint protectors and rebounding bigs?
Save me the bigs are hard to find narrative. The majority of rest of the Big Sky somehow finds and lands them.
Hell, the GRIZ don't even need a big for scoring. Seems like the GRIZ always get a fair amount of scoring from non bigs.
I'd be plenty happy with another Oke or Akoh production player. Even a slightly bettet rebounding and defending Sawyer type.
If DeCuire is so set on guards, why not up the tempo, more traps, more pressure, etc?
The lack of solid bigs in DeCuire's tenure is so frustrating. 20 wins and NCAA March Madness appearances would be almost yearly, if the GRIZ can up their big man recruiting.
I just don't get the lack of focus in big man recruiting year after year.
After watching games in Boise, a big man who can defend and alter shots is needed. Good guard play wins championships just look at the NCAA tournament, guards who are quick, can defend andI'm tired of going after guards all the time. LeagueRDY on Twitter has been posting which players are intending on entering the portal hopefully coaches are following to get a sense which players are available before portal opens.I'm not going to get too deep in to roster decisions but much of the UM's action right now probably has to do with who's either going to be here or isn't. If Montana wants to retain Money for his Senior season, I'd look heavily in getting him some help on the perimeter in addition to post help. Guards are easier to find. If you are losing Money, you need some portal help. Either way this track makes sense.
But right now the targets in the HS/College portal are highly capable scoring facilitators. The Australian kid is a bit more 'unproven,' but reflects someone to come in and take over the PG position on day 1. The Saint Martin's kid is a true scorer from the position. Another DII type kid looking for a move up. Has UCR, ISU unofficial offers as well. JoJo Wallace from SNHU is another example.
The actual portal is so short this year, but I think we are going see names trickle out that they are leaving and get contacts regardless of what the actual rule (can't contact until April 7th (officially). The NCAA doesn't seem to be intent on regulating the pre-portal dance that is going on right now.
He could help some team. Pretty solid.

Two WSU players also are entering the portal one is the all time prep scoring leader in Idaho. Idaho also has another player going into the portal. He could help some team. Pretty solid.
Just to clarify, i think this thread is specific to BSC tranfers.Oregon forward Kwame Evans Jr. plans to enter the transfer portal, per @JoeTipton.
The 6-10 junior and former top-20 recruit averaged 13.3 points and 7.4 rebounds this season.
Why would you only follow and limit to BSC. UM needs all the help it can get especially outside the BSC with better players.Just to clarify, i think this thread is specific to BSC tranfers.
I think he maybe trying to say that some of your posts should be in a different thread. This was started to inform of players from a big Sky conference team that is transferring out. Nothing wrong with your posts.. I agree with your second sentence. Why would you only follow and limit to BSC. UM needs all the help it can get especially outside the BSC with better players.
Is eGriz actively recruiting those players? Do you think Travis is clicking in this link for recruit info? Why would you only follow and limit to BSC. UM needs all the help it can get especially outside the BSC with better players.

Nope, by watching his team this year with 465 turnovers he should be following the links/postings that are announcing these players. Is eGriz actively recruiting those players? Do you think Travis is clicking in this link for recruit info?
Leading prep scoring in Idaho, he's been injured think he's played 5-6 games over two years.Kase Wynott of Washington State (from Winchester, ID/Lapwai HS) is in the portal. He's a kid that we offered/recruited before he chose Washington State over Idaho, us and a few other schools. He's a rangy/long kid, good scorer. My hunch is that he makes the 10 mile trek across the border to UI but he's a guy that we recruited in the past. Travis has been known to circle back to these type of portal kids because of existing relationships.
Yeah. Lapwai wasn't in a division that was the most competitive (but there are far less competitive conferences in Idaho at higher levels--like my former District IV/now 5A southern Idaho league that produced Weber's former player Jace Whitting at Burley), but Wynott showed out well during AAU ball. Pretty impressive stat line his Senior year of high school... 36ppg, 14 rebounds and 9.1apg.Leading prep scoring in Idaho, he's been injured think he's played 5-6 games over two years.
Yeah, Weber recruited him as well. Sounds like injuries have kept him down. He might be worth the gamble, if the injuries are mendable. There were a few good players that came out of that HS. None have shined as brightly as they did in HS. Might have something to do with the big jump from a small Idaho HS to D1 basketball.Kase Wynott of Washington State (from Winchester, ID/Lapwai HS) is in the portal.
