MBBALL 2026 Big Sky Conference Transfer Tracker (New and Improved 2026 Model!)

Weber's David Hansen, 6'9'' forward out of Canada, has entered the portal. He is a smart young man and a good 3 point shooter. He is quite thin and has little to offer in the paint. Someone will pick him up due to his length and shooting, but likely a low mid major or a D11 program. He has 3 years of eligibility left. He is a good human and a good student. If he could put on 30lbs of muscle, he might make a good PF. He gained a little muscle mass in two years at Weber, but not nearly enough. Who knows what he might do over the next 3 years.

Because the portals not open for D1 yet. I’m sure they’ve started vetting possible D1 players that they want, but they can’t offer them or bring them to campus until the portal opens next Tuesday. D2 doesn’t have a portal window so they can leave whenever they want. Plus from the sounds of it, we may have quite a few spots to fill, so I don’t think taking one highly productive D2 kid will hurt anything.
The D11 portal has over 1,000 players listed already. D1 is approaching that number and will likely explode next week. Good players are where you find them. The basketball world has expanded greatly over the past 30 years or more. Sometimes you need to sort through a lot of dirt to find a gem.

Players with agents aren't about to find out what they will get offered when the transfer portal opens on Tuesday.

Players with agents already have a pretty good idea what they will get offered when the transfer portal opens on Tuesday.

When players sign with new schools and their social media posts are released should they just put like 25% OR 33% COMMITTED! Instead of 100%? It is just wild. Can't blame the players to be honest or the coaches from moving on from players. They are doing what they have to do.

Its like saying you're giving 110%. Thats not a real thing and not mathematically possible.

100% committed at time of committing and then for only one season.

Just short of a bajillion players have decided to surf the portal (up 1450 as of 10AM PDT) and it is clear that the BSC is going to look very, very different next year.

I'll provide some particulars as soon as the D1 dust settles....

Late spring signee Luke Moxon is in the portal for the Griz. A few more wildcats, a Vandal, and a Bobcat to name a few.

Update from 1pm MDT - over half of Men's basketball players are in the portal:

Updates as of this morning:

Eastern Washington with no players in the portal as of yet. Montana State with only 1.

We should start seeing a lot more interest lists over the 24-48 hours. Been pretty quiet on that front.

I think the cats were a little premature with their 100% retention rate post last week lol.

The player who entered the portal was a walk-on and did not appear in the "100% retention rate" photo. But yeah...not exactly 100% when one guy does leave! It appears that the rest of the players who were in the photo will stay.
