2025 Transfer Thread/ Portal Offers-- (31) Transfers to UM

"McCoy won the starting job in fall camp and started the first seven games of the season. He was then benched during the Cal game in favor of Ben Gulbranson. When Gulbranson was injured for the Beavs' game Air Force, McCoy returned to the starting role, but was used sparingly in favor of Gabarri Johnson. McCoy also saw only a few snaps in the season finale at Boise State.

Gulbranson and Johnson are still on the team moving into 2025. It's unclear who the frontrunner for the starting job would be at this point."

Even though I firmly believe that Fife was the better QB I also think you can't have someone sewing dissention on the team by arguing with the coaches publicly. I can understand Fife's frustration ,his stats were far better as was his leadership and results, but I also believe Hauck knows what he is doing. Bobby wants to win and he knows what the stats are. Ah Yat can throw the ball but he makes terrible decisions. Being a good QB is a lot more than throwing the ball. I'm hoping one of the Montana boys(Huot,Sliter or Schwickert) will jump up there and take control.
Hope springs eternal.

Certainly not if he's coming to play RB, with Gillman, Fonoti and Rocker all still here.
I think they might be adding him to the receiver room. Looks like he was one of the top pass catchers on the team, and his bio on Twitter says he's a RB/ATH. We have a need at WR and he could definitely work himself into the mix there.

I know its been mentioned somewhere, but how long can a player remain eligible. Saw an article about Cam Rising and speculating whether or not he will return to the Utes. His first year was at Texas in 2018. He's 25. Utes just saw Huard hit the portal, also. McDowell was no stranger to longevity either.

Alas - there are a lot more football idiots out there that keep the narrative going that FCS is D2.
It's not even the fact that people are idiots, just the unfortunate reality they outside of States that only have FCS teams (Montana, Dakotas, Maine, etc.) FCS is an afterthought. The Idaho Potato Bowl drew more viewers then the FCS National Championship game I believe last season.
