Hauck’s inability to recruit/develop an OL that’s better than average has certainly been the most surprising thing to me about his second stint at UM. I guess we will see if this class is the one that gets it right.
The o-line is already good or pretty good. Good size and athletic.
Had 1st and 2d team all- conference players, both of whom are very good.
UM gave up 1.55 sacks per game, 5th in conference and 30th in nation. that's way above average. Behind, NAU, Davis, SS and MSU. Some of those in top 30 were running teams. UM played against some of the top defensive teams in nation.
40th in nation in rushing offense. 4.37 per rush. 6th in conference with 171 per game. About 16th in nation in rushing TD's. Probably top 40 in average per rush. Average per rush same as Weber.
A lineman from 2021 is on an NFL roster. Was identified and developed by current coaches.
6 returning starters. 3 are youngsters. 6 of the 2-deep were frosh and sophs last fall. The line is quite athletic. Is on the verge of DOLA. Had some very good games and some weak ones.
All above average, in my view. Prospects are terrific.
