2023 cats Regular Season Predictions

I don't know man. I watch games there every now and again. It ain't the same. Hell the Cats have taken 2 of 3 lately and the two wins were with average teams. Last year Idaho won with a good (not great) team. 2018 wasn't good at all. Losing to PSU on homecoming has no explanation. That same year it took a miracle to beat Southern Utah 20-19. Like I said. Not the same over there.

Idahoe won because our QB was on IV trying to recover from an illness. And miracle or not, a win is a win. You said “many average teams come in there and win”. It’s just objectively NOT true.

I know we are slaying cat trolls here, but sick QB was NOT the singular reason idaho won that particular game.

Griz had the ball for under 18 minutes total in the game. The defense could NOT get off the field. 42 minutes of possession for idaho is insane.

Idaho had 20 1st downs in the game. Griz had 14.
Idaho was 8-18 on 3rd downs. Griz 4-11.
344 total yards Idaho - 220 for the Griz

About the only stat the Griz led in was penalties - Idaho had 4 for 25 and the Griz had 3 for 30.

Neither team ran the ball worth a crap - 52 yards total for the spuds and 34 total for the Griz.

It is fair to say the 2 late picks for Johnson hurt and hurt really bad...

Stop using facts and stats to prove your point, no Griz fan wants to see this.   I watched the Idaho game and they dominated the Griz that day. As for the Cats narrow wins last season at Eastern & NAU, both were road games. Both were lucky wins, but don't good, gritty teams win the ugly games? The conversation was about home games at Wa Griz, and the fact that the aura there has tarnished. It has. Still not an easy place to play though. FYI, Cats have a 20 game win streak at home and I don't see that ending during this coming regular season. Carry on.

The sick qb contributed to most of those bad stats. With a healthy qb, the Griz win the game easily. Johnson. was reluctant to run. I couldn't figure out why during the game. The picks were bad. The Griz win if they have one less pick.

With a healthy qb, the stats would have been different. That was the point of an earlier post. With a healthy qb, the offensive stats would have been much better, and the D wouldn't have been on the field as much. Way to completely miss the point.

Hmm, pretty sure I was responding to Soldier, that's why I quoted his post dumbass. In the Idaho game.....if the Griz could have run the ball, the stats would have been different. If they could stop the run, the stats would be different too. Hmmm, if they'd just scored more points they would have won! Injuries are the most unfortunate part of the game. It sucks to lose your starting qb, no doubt about it, but if you can't win without your best qb on the field, you really don't deserve to win. Next. Man. Up. No excuses.

We held Idaho to 52 yards rushing on 44 carries for a 1.2 yard average. What the hell are you talking about?

You have won 20 straight at home, yes. We are 19-1 in our last 20 at home, with the only loss coming to a team that is ranked in the top 5 this year.

Look forward to seeing you for the Cats game this year. I think you will find it is still quite the formidable place. The eruption when Bergen took that long TD run to open the game against ya'all last time was more than I've ever heard out of the litter box. I look forward to another one just like it when Vidlak catches him deep to start the game in November.

The aura was not so tarnished last time MSDUI came to town. Maybe you've tried to put it out of your mind.

I was responding to you, dumbass. Like MSU didn't deserve to win against SDS, and will get crushed this fall by them. I heard some of the Cat players are afraid to play SDS. True?

Good post. Blaming the loss on a sick QB is embarrassing for you guys. That's an idiotic excuse we Cat fans would have said in the 90s. I'll add another to your list. You lost because WaGr simply isn't intimidating anymore. It's not nearly as loud as it used to be. Hell, the Cats have won 2 of 3 there lately. Large patches of empty seats are visible on TV. The Cats should win again 2023.

Dude...no. The Griz are selling out every game and put more butts in seats than the cats ever will. WaGriz will always be colder and louder than the litterbox. Our mascot is better than your feral ally cat, and our cheerleaders are far better...I know from experience. ;)

I am hitting purge on that game...I don't want to think about it or talk about it ever again. There are only a few games that piss me off in my Griz Fandom. That was among them.

So you don’t think that a healthy Johnson would have changed the offensive stats, including TOP? I mean at some point it becomes a snowball rolling downhill as the D gets more and more exhausted. I don’t think there’s any doubt that if Johnson were healthy in that game, the stats (and likely the outcome) would be different. It’s not rocket science.

No. 42 minutes to 18 is not a QB problem...'cmon dude.

The problem was the defense.

No, the problem was lack of offense. A good offense keeps the D off the field. The lack of O was definitely a wb problem in that game, in large part. Jeez, talk to a coach. You really don’t understand football, do you. And never played the game.

So clueless. Idaho's QB and AA wide receiver had the Griz D on their heels all game. They converted almost 50 percent on 3rd and 4th down.

The Griz defense was on the field for 42 minutes...because Idaho made it that way. They punished the Griz D who could not stop them, generate turnovers, or get off the field...all game.

Johnson and the offense had 18 minutes with the ball because of that.
