No doubt it’s huge. Problem is, the easier schedule can mask a lot of issues and give a false sense of security. It may result in a better record, a seed, and a DEEPER playoff run, but with a less talented team, potentially.
Woah woah woah, I thought we were suddenly exclusively results-oriented around here. What gives!

If we win the NC with a less talented team, was the season even really worth playing?

You must not be looking at the schedule difference.

What you describe above may be true because the higher seed = coveted home field games and possible deep run.

On the other hand, it might expose a team with "less talent" in the same round last year's team was bounced.

The insulation provided by the weaker schedule may simply unravel...

I literally could not have put it better. I'm on the same page as you with your reasons for FCS not being watered down. Great explanation.

Of course a cat fan wants to preserve the myth that the FCS is not watered down because it would dilute their recent successes. Shocking.

Shocking. I didn't bring the Cats into the conversation but little brother found a way. Rent free. 😉

If your position is that the FCS is so watered down, take that with the fact that the score from Cat/griz this year was so lopsided, then we can only surmise that means that the 2022 griz team was middle of the road at best in the FCS of yesteryear? Probably hovering around .500 or worse? I mean I don't agree with you but hey to each their own.

No, you inserted yourself into the thread - polluting it with cat shit. I am not on your board, lil bro.

Fair question. We shall see. Only time will tell. One game at a time.

Hey, if you guys still want to refer to the Cats as little bro… go for it. That just means that little bro grew up, got bigger and better than older brother and started kicking his ass. That’s exactly where we’re at here with pretty much everything having to do with the two schools.

They can't actually feel better than us until we've given them an adequate amount of validation. Incredibly, we still hold all the power here.

We’ll I guess if “insecure” is that feeling you have when you truly know, deep down, that MSU is significantly better than um in literally almost every measurable metric, and it will be that way for a long time, then yes I am feeling insecure. 😁

“No, seriously, I’m really good. I promise. Right, dad? I’m good, right? Please notice. Please clap. I’m not insecure at all!”

Define “a long time”.

73-42-5 in football
18-4 in the last 22 in basketball
Hell, even UM’s enrollment has 4 consecutive semesters of increases.

Have you had “recent” success? Yes. Is there anything to indicate that it’s going to continue on indefinitely? Nope, not by a long shot.

4 consecutive enrollment increases? Woo hoo!
After how many years and years of decreases?
I mean be happy that Mr. GE light bulb finally posted some success in that area after too long of under-delivering but that's not exactly a metric you can use for smack talk against the largest university in the state that sees record enrolment consistently.

I feel like they don’t quite comprehend the absolute fact that they will always be lil’ bro(s). Sad, really.
