Ya he did.. TV news report. Hard to believe but I think the Fitzgerald kid did not. Dad a Griz, brother a kitten
 
Why is it, the last few years, it seems like the likes of NDSU, MSU, and EWU seem to have a solid head start on the GRIZ for verbal commitments? Are the GRIZ less aggressive, or more cautious to keep more scholarships open for players that fall through the cracks of FBS caliber recruits?

I think it is based on the recruiting philosophy a bit. I could be wrong but I believe that since Hauck has been back, a lot of offers come during the football camps, when the coaches and staff can see the recruit perform in person and offer them a scholarship in person. I could be wrong though.
 
I spoke with a few coaches Friday. Was great to have all the coaches golfing in Laurel. They said their recruiting philosophy is quite a bit different than other FCS schools. Said they really want to see and get to know the kids before they make an actual offer. They did say they’ve offered more kids this year than in previous years because of the unknown.

I'm loving the few PA connections the GRIZ now have. It would be great to build upon that. If, Dante Olson makes the Eagles, that will help further. PA is a terrific football state.

I hear what you are saying, but Montana has beaten Mountain West and the academies on some recruiting lately:

CB Corbin Walker (Air Force offered).

RB Nick Ostmo (Air Force and Army offered).

WR Aaron Fontes (Colorado State offered).

And of course OL Brandon Casey (Pac 12 Oregon State offered late).

I like the Griz chances going up against MWC (because Hauck) for recruits. :thumb:
 
Aaron's 40 time looks legitimate ......he can definitely go over the top and make defenses honest....no substitute for speed....we are getting a faster as a team too, with the kid from Oxnard.....well, maybe just staying fast...we are fast now as well...hope we get him.
