2019 MT High School Football Season

Watched Helena High/CMR last night, score 26-15 Helena (garbage TD for CMR as the clock ran out). Helena looked pretty decent---- probably won't win it all, but will definitely contend. Their sophomore quarterback performed very well, and has allowed them to move the senior qb (Ferguson) to receiver and running back, giving multiple weapons to their offense. Pass defense definitely needs work for Helena, as better teams could slice them up. They will be an interesting team to watch.

Unfortunately, CMR Football hasn't been the same since Coach Johnson retired. Sad to see the program crash this way. Johnson was an icon but it was his fierce tenacity and player respect that catapulted the Rustlers to so many State Titles. He is sorely missed.

He looks good, but we do have Rostad coming in.

Everybody knows my favorite past time is railing on the College of Bozeman and their pathetic QB situation in particular.
But this one has me torn. He’s such a good kid. Nice, smart, very respectful. Great athlete, Butte tough, all that.
So yeah, this one hurts but not like losing the usual recruit to them.
Please, friends don’t let friends become bobcats. Get the word out. And where were the parents through this horrible decision? Think about the children!

Your'e right about RL. Their MO is to be below average to terrible for about 8 years at a time and then put together a state-worthy team for a year or two. Not sure they will ever be able to sustain a dominant program in that area but it would be encouraging if Fitzgerald continued to coach for as long as possible.

Mellott is legit and the best QB for the cats right now, the likes of which they have not seen since the OG Red Rifle.

I’m not saying the Butte kid should take the Hamilton kid’s spot, but if he will come here if we say he can compete for the position, and steal him from the cats, it’s a no-brainer.
