2018 game start times?

Has anyone heard anything on official start times for our home games this year? I like to plan ahead for late start or night games. I hope the Griz/Cat game is at 3pm again. Loved that start time a few years ago.

They usually don't announce them until they find out which games Root wants.

Looking at our schedule I'd guess Root grabs @UND, vs SUU, @Idaho, and vs MSU.

Also I'd wonder if they're may be a push to get the UNI game some sort of featured game... maybe... maybe not.

We didn't have lights when BH was here last. He's made it clear he HATES night games. Haslam has said there's going to be at least one night game per season. Might be a push and pull between those two about that. I thought UNI was going to be a no-brainer as a night game, but I'm guessing BH will NOT want that game to be a night game. There will be some games though that he may not have a choice, as there will be a couple of situations where the Griz and Cats are both at home, and if both games are on SWX one will be an early start and one a later start. So I think we'll see a similar schedule to last year. 4-5 games on Root, mostly 1 p.m. start times, and an SWX game or two with a 1 p.m. start time, and a couple SWX or Eleven Sports games with a 3-5 p.m. start time.

He hated night games then but since at UNLV and SDSU I'd venture more than half of their games were nighly... UNLV's probably almost all at night when at home.

I kind of liked the mid-afternoon starts as we get into the fall.

Heck yeah...they are an hour later time zone, so get them an hour closer to bedtime! hahaha

Root games are not necessarily 1 PM starts; they avoid conflicts with Mariner games and other higher priority offerings.

I think the first game of the year should be a night game, too hot in august/ early September. Afternoon games after that.

That Valpo opener last season was akin to sitting in a blast furnace. Many left by half

I hate the 1200 start times. 1300 is bad enough, 1330 is better. I would like the Cat game to start at 1500. I like to tailgate, and starting at 0900 means I have to leave home by 0530. The spouse has to get up at like 0300 to make these times and by games end, the after game party is dead.

I had a lady in her 80's collapse on the walking path right behind my tailgate party, called campus security to help. I sent a note in after to Kent Haslam and others suggesting any game in early Sept be considered for a late afternoon start, that was miserable that day.

Wasn't it like 104 on the field? The beer ran straight thru my pores...

In one of his pressers since being hired, he was asked how much he got to watch the Griz during his time away. He said ALOT because the MWC plays almost all their games at night, and he said "I ahted all those night games, nobody likes them, the coaches don't and the players don't."

I wonder if that is the same for Montana players and coaches? I think the fans really like them here, especially us that travel long distance for games.

I've never understood why people were enamored with night games!??! A night game in early September is fine, to avoid the afternoon heat. After that, I'd just as soon no game started later than 1:30.

Similar to my philosophy. If it were up to me (and no TV obligations), I'd do any Aug/early September games as night games and anything from late September onward would be 1 PM kickoffs.
