2017 Vim's Montana High School Football Recruiting List

AZ,

I’m going to strongly disagree with you on this one. Let’s use Balue Chapman as an example. Balue grew up bleeding blue and gold. Not only did he grow up in Bozeman, but his dad Brett, played for the cats. I know them very well, and can tell you that he was given 100% free reign to make a decision.

He enjoyed his visit to UM, and I know the thought of playing for the Griz was very tempting, given the stadium, tradition, etc. At the end of the day, he made the decision he felt was best for his playing career and education. You have to credit msu for pushing hard, and not just assuming he would go there because of his dad.

Although he’ll be 0-4 against the Griz, I am sure he made the right decision for him.

Vim is right on Gilman. Both Cats and Griz wanted him and he didn't have a ton of loyalty either way. As for Anderson (Dillon) and Hashley (Glacier) they both had strong family Cats ties that would be hard to flip. So yes the Cats won the battle on Gilaman.

Rensvold and the Deming twins (Griz commits and very good ones at that) had no major loyalties to either Cats or Griz ( although the Deming twins to have a brother running track for UM) and all 3 were wanted and offered by both Cats and Griz and the Griz won that battle. I'd say for kids with no loyalties we are pretty darn even and doing just fine.

OK, first of all, the "their fathers made them choose the Scats" comment was tongue-in-cheek. Second, you're going to use an example of a Scat legacy family where the kid chooses to go Scat to make your point? :? :? :?
"Free reign" or not....you can't tell me that didn't play strongly into his decision. "Bleeds blue and gold". "Grew up in Bozeman". "Dad played for the Scats". Yeah, I'm guessing it was a real tough decision on his part. The only thing tempting about the Griz was whether he wanted to ever win the Brawl or not. 8-) 8-)

That's good. Where? I've done a search for it, but nothing comes up.

I know there was plenty of social media surrounding the announcement by Griz coaches and friends posting on the Deming Twitter accounts. However I don't know of any article by AJ or Kyle that came out on it. Personally, I wish we would see an article on each of these recruits. Havgrizfan, you are a sports writer correct? Is this something you can take on?

If more griz fans would subscribe to skylinesports instead of talking shit on Colter you would already have your stories.

Spot on. I'd rather have more to brag about in November than February. I'm glad that's how it typically works out in this rivalry.

In my opinion, the hardest hitting safety in this years crop of Montana safeties. Could have a future at OLB as well. Nice pickup guys.

Tanner and Michael McGinnis make two nice Safety prospects to develop. The 2017 Montana class is loaded with talented Safety/Outside Linebacker kids (could choose to develop either way). Griz now have Tanner Wilson and Michael McGinnis and Cats have Troy Andersen and Tadan Gilman. Other top safety/olb prospects out there include: Keaton Anderson, Casey Cole, and Luke Gonsioroski.

I'm going to say this, after looking at these kids for the past 5 months now, neither in-state school is going to come out as a loser with their in-state commits. Both schools are off to great starts in-state and there is still a ton of talent out their in Montana that hasn't committed. I predicted a deep, talented 2017 Montana class and thus far I'm not being proved wrong.
