2016 key players that could emerge

burke was always a favorite and quite capable I thought.....is he out of football for sure with the concussion issues ?

Now is the time to plan necessary changes with the OL. Hopefully, we don't go thru another season with an inferior line. JC transfers?

Thought the o line got better thru the season, now they'll have a full off season with Germer, and Ben Eeyer comes back. I think the OL will be in good shape.

I loved watching him play also - the ultimate team player. But I would be shocked to see him ever play football again being that he is struggling to even get back into school. :(

I also think Yemen Sanders will step up and add a strong presence in the secondary. He made some big plays this past year.

Has anyone gotten any news about our big recruiting coups of Dalton Daum and Jesse Sims? How have they been on scout teams? What is their outlook?

I'm hoping at least one.....Angel Villanueva. Would be a red shirt Freshman. Dude looks like a beast.

My point was that you probably won't see anyone new added to the roster that would play a role in the OL....

Some folks here seem like they won't be happy with the OL play unless we average 10 ypc and don't allow any sacks, ever. :?

ha - and then we'll be mad b/c it won't be 10.5 YPC and we'll complain that the QB got knocked down a few times.

We need to do better than 3.6 ypc in a season when our defense gave up 3.9 ypc..

Absolutely we'll complain about that - need to keep getting better - just keep getting better. :P

Should be a competition, best guys see the field. If it's a RS frosh - fine, as Stitt would say, that's why they are on scholarship. As the year unfolded, the O-line looked like a better unit with Brady behind center for the most part, and had to block for a run game that tried to run between the tackles 90% of the time. I think Stitt would help himself to some degree by widening the running lanes from time to time. Nyugen's biggest runs this year were outside the tackle.

I too think our O line will be better next year for all the reasons above and the experience of this year. But as the USDS coach said, "They don't really explode off the ball. They just dance around until they find someone to block." If the Griz are to have a competitive running game, I think they will need to find explosion. Germer?

I'm interested to see if Daum's speed will translate to the college game. And if it does will the "Mad Scientist"
use it?
