Dmontana, I agree.

It is always tough to win down in Dillon but I believe Whitefish wins the A Championship. Though I doubt the "put a hurt" part. Dillon isn't a great team this year but it has a very good team who plays well as a unit. Whitefish will need to score early and often via the air (& Dillon is a bit suspect in the secondary), and then contain the Dillon QB from hurting them on the other side. Should be a very close and good game.

Over in Bozeman, I believe Billings Senior can get revenge and win the AA Championship. Senior's offense can break a big one on any play. They are tough to contain throughout the game. On the other side of the ball, Senior's defense has been playing very inspired football and will keep Bozeman from getting much on the board. I think this combination will be more than Bozeman can handle (for a second time). These are two good teams and it should be another good game.

Very true. The "hurt" part to me means a Dillon loss by anything in double digits. They just don't lose. They're tough and proved so first game. This dog team IMO is heavy on great senior talent. I don't think anyone really appreciates how special a combo like May, Parker, Nagler really are until you see them.
This is honestly probably the best top to bottom WF team I have seen in 20 years. They are just a very special group. Once you watch them live, you get it. Yeah, they make mistakes. But when you see Luke make four people miss like Jordy Johnson, then step up and throw it 40 yards with pin point accuracy to the end zone....yeah....

Dillon was being handled pretty well by Butte Central in last years championship in Butte...when Dillon made an improbable come-back for the victory. And many off that Butte Central team are playing college ball this year, one of whom won the West Defensive MVP in the Shrine Game this past summer. Whitefish is talented, especially Nagler. But having only seen them once, last year against Butte Central, I gotta go with my gut...a 3-peat by the Beavs. Good luck to WF though, I would rather have them win, especially because of future Grizzly Jared Nagler.

As a former C-Falls Wildcat, the thought of Whitefish winning hurts a little, but I do wish them the best.

Still SMH that the Maroons lost.

The 6 man game should be a good one.
Denton-Geyser-Stanford beat Box Elder by only 1 point when they played back in October.

Has anyone heard of any TV or streaming options. They used to televise at least the AA once in a while. Kind of sad if nothing is available.

Per the Gazette, looks like the games will be available for pay-per streaming from the MHSA

Last night on the boob tube --

7KBZK Reporter (bozeman): Last season it was Dillon who had a chip on it's shoulder going into the class A state championship game because it was a re-match with a Butte Central team that it had lost to in the regular season. But this year it's Whitefish that might have a bit of a competitive advantage in this game. "Well if you don't give it your all they can beat you because it was only a one point game the firs time. So it was really close. Both teams are just really equal, and it should be a good one." said Dillon WR Nate Simpkins.

7KBZK Reporter: It's been almost 11 weeks since the two teams met up in Whitefish in the opener. But here in Dillon the drills haven't changed. The coaches have the same focused vibe. You might as well forget about championship butterflies. That's what happens when you go for an 8th state title in 16 years, and a 3rd in a row. "You know, we've been here before, we know what to expect leading up to the game. You don't really try to think it's a big deal til after the game when it's all over." said Dillon WR Nate Simpkins

Dillon head coach. "Well I think we got a lot more kids that are ready to go. You know our depth is there. We've built it over the year, throughout the year with subs. And our depth is definitely a lot better and we got kids that know their assignments."

7KBZK Reporter: Dillon has improved since since September, but so has Whitefish. They've averaged 42 points a game behind quarterback Luke May. His numbers, 21 touchdowns through the air, and 17 on the ground, with just 2 interceptions. Dillon WR Nate Simpkins said, "What's dangerous about them is they extend plays, they run around, they can extend it for a long time. So we've got to make sure we cover their receivers downfield."

7KBZK Reporter: But don't cut our the mental side of this game, t's business as usual for Dillon. While Whitefish hasn't won a title since 1979.

Congressman Ryan Zinke won't be getting any votes in Dillon this weekend. The former Navy Seal was an offensive lineman on that Whitefish state championship team in '79. Zinke put out a you-tube video yesterday wishing his high school team good luck.

Senior scores a couple touchdowns late, to make the final Senior 23, Bozeman 35.

Bozeman showed up ready to win another championship. Senior, not so much. I don't recall that they have given up that many points this year. Sulser might have gotten injured during the National Anthem because I don't remember him being in many plays. Congrats to the Hawks. And to my alma mater, maybe next year.
