It is always tough to win down in Dillon but I believe Whitefish wins the A Championship. Though I doubt the "put a hurt" part. Dillon isn't a great team this year but it has a very good team who plays well as a unit. Whitefish will need to score early and often via the air (& Dillon is a bit suspect in the secondary), and then contain the Dillon QB from hurting them on the other side. Should be a very close and good game.
Over in Bozeman, I believe Billings Senior can get revenge and win the AA Championship. Senior's offense can break a big one on any play. They are tough to contain throughout the game. On the other side of the ball, Senior's defense has been playing very inspired football and will keep Bozeman from getting much on the board. I think this combination will be more than Bozeman can handle (for a second time). These are two good teams and it should be another good game.
Very true. The "hurt" part to me means a Dillon loss by anything in double digits. They just don't lose. They're tough and proved so first game. This dog team IMO is heavy on great senior talent. I don't think anyone really appreciates how special a combo like May, Parker, Nagler really are until you see them.
This is honestly probably the best top to bottom WF team I have seen in 20 years. They are just a very special group. Once you watch them live, you get it. Yeah, they make mistakes. But when you see Luke make four people miss like Jordy Johnson, then step up and throw it 40 yards with pin point accuracy to the end zone....yeah....
Dillon was being handled pretty well by Butte Central in last years championship in Butte...when Dillon made an improbable come-back for the victory. And many off that Butte Central team are playing college ball this year, one of whom won the West Defensive MVP in the Shrine Game this past summer. Whitefish is talented, especially Nagler. But having only seen them once, last year against Butte Central, I gotta go with my gut...a 3-peat by the Beavs. Good luck to WF though, I would rather have them win, especially because of future Grizzly Jared Nagler.
