I am sure hoping, the majority of the other 9 verbals follow Pflug and officially sign asap. I am really nervous about losing a few of these guys. Someone that knows Pflug, have him work his magic to have them sign. I am way too excited for this class way too early.

He's illusive and strong

I agree, he's extremely illusive (and strong). Swivel hips to the max. He's a baller.

He'd be smart to accept a scholly from Montana, if offered. With the Montana RB coach being a former San Diego major HS star RB, a Griz All-American, and NFL RB...not to mention the Montana head coach being a former long-time RB coach at FBS Colorado State, where he coached RB's there and at UM into the NFL.

elusive and illusive... :D

question for payton or anyone else that can answer.....is jared clark the o/lineman jc recruit still with the team? and if so why isn't he a viable option with all the injuries, after all he would be a junior with a body of someone who has been in the weight room much longer than a true freshman....this is exactly why we recruit the jc guys....the other answer to this question is we may have missed on his ability.....just wondering about this, I never hear anything about him....

Do we have any pipelines into Texas high schools? I have been to several high school games down here recently, and my opinion is that Texas high school football is what most think it is...just flat out big time. Most games I've been to have had nearly 10,000 fans. Athletes all over the field.

Same here. My daughter's HS has sent 2 straight QB's to BCS schools...Trevor Knight of Oklahoma and now Ty Summers at TCU (he's playing LB though :? )...and the current QB (a sophomore) is probably better than either of his predecessors...lots of other D-I talent on the field...many of which end up getting passed over and end up at schools like Incarnate Word, etc.

And Montana State.

Dakota Prukop, FCS All-American when the ink dries, can play a little.

Keep an eye on these two names: Kellen Mond (Soph QB) and Luke Mitchum (Senior WR). Not sure who is recruiting them, but they'll be in a program. Mitchum is 6-5" with great hands, Mond is a Sophomore who already is the best player on the field every time he steps across the white line.

Agree with AZGriz. I've seen both of these guys play, and they are superb. Actually the entire school district down here in San Antonio (NEISD) is packed with talent. Reagan High School has about 5 receivers who should go D1.

Way back at the end of June Jared posted on instagram that he lost a year of eligibility. Don't know the reason why, but I think that's why we haven't seen him playing this year.

Here is his quote found on the link above:
"After finding out I lost a year of eligibility I was fortunate enough to get a full ride scholarship to the University of Montana. Never thought I would play D1aa football. Can't thank the few people enough who have been with me and believed in me from day 1 (you know who you are) also all my Citrus boys and coaches. Excited for new chapters ! #blessed #gogrizz #committed #started"

They can't sign until national LOI day in February. Pflug is the exception because he will graduate this semester and will enroll for winter semester.

Watched the Eastside Catholic/O'Dea game on TV Friday. Recruit Alex Neale was playing right guard. That young man is impressive. Great hands, great footwork for a 290 lb guy.

I watched that GREAT game as well, griz4life. It pitted the #2 and #3 teams in Washington (class 3A), behind powerhouse #1 Bellevue. Came down to the end, with Eastside Catholic being victorious.

I agree, Griz verbal commit Alex Neale is impressive. He keeps a low pad level, and is a powerful run and pass blocker, with a good motor. He'll be a great Griz, probably a center or guard. The Junior tailback that runs behind him is a U Wash verbal comit, and owes Alex some dinners in my opinion.

O'Dea had another U Wash verbal commit at tailback, a senior, that had some serious speed/athleticism. O'Dea was big and fast all over, but so was Eastside Catholic. Two really good looking HS teams.

As impressed as I was with Alex Neale, I have to say I was also highly impressed with Eastside Catholic DE (Griz verbal commit) Cody Baker! This kid is huge, and wears the weight extremely well. I most impressed with him doing his job, not trying to do everybody elses, he stayed home and set the edge. He is a great run stuffer and pass rusher. He's athletic, batting down a pass. And he made several huge tackles late in the game, helping secure the victory. He looks like loves the game, and celebrates (on the field and on the sideline) with his teammates when they make a good play...he looks real personable. He's going to be a crowd favorite at UM.

Set the DVR or catch the remaining replays of the Eastside Catholic vs O'Dea from this past Fri night on ROOT SPORTS Northwest (RTNW): Both Griz verbals in this game are 3-star players.

Monday, 11:00pm
Thursday, 5:00pm

Also on Fox Sports West and also on Prime Ticket, you can watch Centennial (Corona, CA) v.s. Santiago (Corona, CA). Griz verbal TE Woody Brandom plays for Santiago HS and is a 2-Star. I think he deserves 3.

Friday, 11:30pm
Saturday, 11:30am
Monday, 4:30pm
Tueday, 1:00pm

:egriz:

O'Dea wasn't doing much on Baker's end of the line, probably says as much about his impact as anything. He's got a great build, definitely an "looks good coming off the off the bus" first teamer.

I was kind of surprised that the Griz weren't offering anyone from O'Dea.

Griz4life, you took the words right out of my mouth with those 3 sentences, I totally agree.
