Butte High senior WR Dalton Daum had a good half of football last Fri. In the first half against Missoula Hellgate, Daum had 5 receptions for 120 yards and 3 touchdowns. He did not play the 2nd half. Butte High QB Dillon Cook (a junior) threw 7 touchdowns, breaking his brothers record of 6 in a single game.

While a couple of the Butte High coaches are former Bobcat players, including the head coach, Dalton Daum is a Griz fan.

An example of this is his facebook page, one of his "Favorites" on facebook is "UM Grizzly Athletics - Football". No mention of state.

Payton...I'm just curious. Who is your best guess that could be another "big" splash recruit to the Griz? It seems we are really nailing it this year and if these guys indeed sign, probably one of the best classes I can remember on paper in the last 20 years as a group?

All this said, seems you're working a little overtime this year and want to again say how much I really appreciate you doing all this.

I have been amazed by much of what has happened. I checked and last year (granted smaller class) UM had 4 known verbals In the first part of January. UM has 10 this year BEFORE December!

This class is not only verbaling early, these are quality recruits. With each film I watch, I find it hard to believe UM has them. I truly hope the RB from San Diego sticks... I think he is the real deal.

As far as a "big splash" I just have a gut feeling that one or two names on signing day will be a incredable sign. I don't really have any names, just going off of past recruiting classes.

BTW You are correct on paper this class Is the best I can remember, and it will only get better as days go by.

I rechecked info and his offer is missing from Scout. Either they removed it or the offer was pulled, but you are correct all stories say msu... so for now I will remove him.- good catch, thanks.

Its hard to believe in todays internet info age, but there are still reporters out there that dont know Montana has two FCS schools

As for now, at least. From what I know he sounds like a pretty decent recruit. Maybe in the days to come UofM will offer, eventually. No harm in trying.

Wow, these coaches we have, are recruiting like crazy as we have some great young guys coming to play football for the Griz and they are all good young men.
And they can play the game!

Some might not redshirt........ and it looks like they will have the ability to see some playing time next season! Go Griz!

By the looks for the early commits and the offers out there still, I have a feeling we might be losing some additional players from this year's team. Not only is this a high number of signees this early, also very high number of offers.

I do hope we add some quality CB's still. I wonder if we plan to offer a few more RB's, just in case our RB verbal changes his mind. That dude is getting some great interest from Pac 12 programs.
