2015-16 UM recruiting\ 2 Verbals

There are no schollies available currently but at our level it seems there is always a surprise departure. I certainly hope not because i love our roster but never say never. It also feels to me that DeCuire is all about talent and if he has a guy he feels would be a major get for us he'll make room regardless of position.

I agree about the need for a 6' 9" plus post. The guy i really like is Jacob Hughes in the '17 class who we have offered. Would be a very solid commit. But what the hell do i know? Recruiting is just a year round passion for me

I love recruiting! To me nearly as much fun as watching the football/basketball games themselves.

Official today, right?

Today through the 18th for the early signing period. I am always excited for this time to see who both the men and women get. When we recruit 2 and 3 star players I am always nervous to see that they don't end up going elsewhere when another team loses some of their signees. It seems like in the past the Griz men announce the first day and the Lady Griz announce later for whatever reason.

Yeah, I'm always worried about that too. I guess it's a little bit of the "mid-major" syndrome. These 2 will be great Griz and would be surprised if they didn't contribute right away.

I see where they have announced the signing of Sayeed Pridgett 6'4" 180 a point guard from El Cerrito HS Oakland, CA (3-Star). Congratulations on that signing.

Now where is our power forward Alphonso Anderson 6'6" from Garfield HS Tacoma, WA (3-Star)? I said it before and I'll say it again, I always get nervous on a player of this quality and potential until I see it as a done deal.

C'mon Kyle, no secrets, let us know.

How does a 6`10 guy that was getting recruited by Big Sky and west coast conference programs go to a NAIA!? ouch

Saw Ragen Shein from Helena play last night. He hung 32 on Butte and was out of the game a fair amount. 6-7 and much more athletic than Samuelson. Plays above the rim and shoots a nice three ball. And Butte has the size to make it tough under the basket. He is gon to Tech. How the heck did that kid slip away from MSU or UM?

Pretty good article here with quite a few Montana targets. Good illustration of the level of players we are going after now.

And getting. Anderson, top ten here; Sayeed Pridgett top five Bay Area.

We now have the athletes at the guard position to play with most teams after they gain some experience. With Anderson we also have a forward coming in that is very athletic. Our primary need now is for a long 6'8" or taller athletic center on the order of Bolomboy from Weber. Maybe we find one in the spring. I certainly hope so. It is obvious after the Washington game that we need to improve the athleticism of our bigs.

Travis is on the right track but I hope that train arrives earlier than later.
