2 QB System

I couldn’t care less how Hauck labels things. I was hopeful they had learned their lesson from the eggs/basket situation they got themselves into last season. I think Ah Yat is more than a step above where they were at last season, but his experience is limited. Anything they can do to let him gain experience, is going to pay off if he should happen to need to drive the car upcoming.

Maybe I am just behind the times. I just have never known any fan base, other than ours these days, to call for bringing backup QBs in early in the game to get them experienced. It seems preposterous to me, but I have been very, very wrong before. (I did pick Ryan Simpson as my offensive breakout player of the year, after all)

Well like Skyline sports said on their show, the whole backup QB thing started 30 years ago when Dave Dickenson was a backup and the starter got hurt. And when he came in, the rest is history. And there were a bunch of others who were backups that became starters and were really successful. And after watching Ah Yat come in when the game was really close and put up our first offensive TD, it really excited a lot of die hard fans who have followed the team for decades.

Dave Dickenson as QB is one of my earliest memories, so I missed his time as backup. I did hear that though, and maybe that did get into the Griz fan DNA at some point. Nothing against Ah Yat. I have been singing his praises since everything that happened and he stayed with the Griz. But I am also a big fan of Cliff. I have been rooting for that kid since he showed up and volunteered for kick return duty to show how bad he wanted it. Lets give Big Cliff his season. He's earned it, baby!
