Peeing in a cup...steroids. wish you guys had the guts to play the griz or the cats, mvd even said we would play them if they allowed their red shirts to play us. The depth and speed will be too much. I agree six national titles is good but no one has ever been able to win four national titles in a row because of how strong the competition is in fcs and fbs. You wouldn't have the same results playing the cats, vikings eagles twice in one year the competition doesn't compare.

Good Lord will people pull your head out of your asses? You play similar competition. Carroll's depth of talent is no where near UM's, just like UM's depth of talent is no where near Alabama's (despite what some would say). What VanDiest has done is impressive no matter what level you are looking at. He may or may not be a good fit in Missoula but don't disparage the program and his record to puff your chest about Montana Football

Well said! Give the guy a little respect. Not his fault that his name surfaced as a possible candidate and whether he gets the job or not - he deserves consideration. IMO he is not a good fit for the position because of recruiting and lack of connections in surrounding states. I think Tim Hauck sounds damn good since he has so many ties to the NFL and college. Rumor is - he was one hell of a recruiter and really sold the program. Kids want to go where they have positive exposure for their playing skills and a shot at being drafted. He could offer both and he also appears to be all business. I think discipline would be a non issue.

You need a blood test to test for steroids... minor caveat... but please continue.

No way Van Diest ever becomes the UM coach, unless things are so bad that no one else has applied. Listen to Infiltrator. He's right on and he always has the right information.

you guys would be so lucky to get bruce as your AD. i'd literally puke if it ever happened, but the guy knows how to run athletics. that said, i haven't met many people who disliked everything "griz" as much as he did. i'd be blown away if he even listened to offers from um...

Do you believe everything you read on the internet? I can assure you the article is inaccurate.

The urine tests test for the amount of testosterone present. They do not test for the presence of steroids.

Nope, don't want either of those guys. I'm sure MVD is a great guy, but why hasn't he moved up from Carroll, the NAIA (which is a total joke) powerhouse? Same goes for Parker.

Regardless I think Royce is going to make terrible decision on whoever he hires. Have zero confidence in him - the gutless "leader" of this University.

Clean program? Powerhouse? NAIA is rampant with steroids and the 6-time national champs are as guilty as any program.

Yep. Former Carroll player now public speaker talks about roid rage and how he almost died because of it. Good guy now but talks about what was out of sight just beneath the surface of public image.

Almost died of roid rage? I hope you're joking.

Well considering that almost every NFL, MLB, and NCAA team use the piss test as the test for steroids, yes, I do believe what I read on the internet. Have you ever played sports? They don't collect blood samples to test for steroids, you pee in the little cup, just as Infiltrator said above.

Urine analyses test for the amount of hormone present in the system, much like a pregnancy test would (not for the compound in the body). Supraphysiological levels of androgen in the urine can be indicative of steroid use in some cases, but considering there is no defined level of low or high testosterone, it is left open to interpretation by the physician. Most newer AAS don't show up in the urine as they are filtered, & most athletes will use an intramuscular AAS to be "safe" since they do not show up in the urine at all. Blood tests are expensive & take time to receive results because they typically need to be sent off, but they are more accurate & they can indicate if exogenous androgens were used (if administered within the half life of the drug).

Again, urine analyses test for the amount of hormone present in the body, not the presence of an androgen. A UA cannot distinguish between naturally occurring androgens, or exogenous androgen.

That is why you use a blood test.
