1st, GO GRIZ!!! 2nd ESPN+ WTH?

For what it's worth, I KNOW I watched part of the SDS/Cat game on TV last week. I don't remember if it was on SWX Montana (over the air) or Direct TV Sports Package, but it was definitely one of the two.

I know it was on ABC/SWX programming guide. I didn't watch but was supposed to follow the Griz one.

So....it is possible to get home games from that conference shown on TV if negotiations are made.

The Cat slaughter game was carried by SWX in Billings last week after the Griz victory.

The local ABC/Fox/SWX out of Great Falls carried the whole game too. It was glorious to watch.
There may still be a chance. But like other posters are saying, I’ll just fire it up on my phone and go from there.

The thing that is dumb is ESPN just used to offer ESPN3 as their subscription service but now that more networks and ISPs offer access to ESPN3 as part of their packages, ESPN started ESPN+ as another standalone subscription service...it's all about the $$$. The FCS championship game used to be on ESPN too...now it's been relegated to ESPN2

Actually the only online "device" I have is a desktop PC. I know, "ARCHAIC", but that's just me.

I have a tower connected to each of my TVs for situations exactly like a game on ESPN+

Ahhh...makes sense now. I couldn't figure out why there wasn't crap on ESPN3 this year.

ESPN3 was designed by ESPN to cover the games that they had rights too but didn't have the air time to show. That quickly grew out of control to highschool games and Div 2 games and FCS games galore. Then they recently acquired rights to some more soccer content and made contracts with a few conferences. At that point it was no longer realistic to broadcast all that on espn3 with no cost because the cost of the content was starting to cost a lot. ESPN has also been looking for additional revenue streams since it had to lay off some staff. This is a great way for them. They charge you 5 bucks a month but you get tons of games. You get soccer and atleast a few MLB games a week. You get access to all the 30 for 30 content of which you previously had to buy. You get the ESPN shorts and access to all the ESPN + articles on ESPN including fantasy football guru stuff. Yes its about money but its worth it. You get quite a bit of content and you can stream it from most devices (roku, android, iphone, computer, apple tv) Not to mention that all FCS playoff games on ESPN3 last year (80%) are all going to be on espn+. DirecTV has a deal in place with Disney(espn) to be able to broadcast the ESPN3 streams on channels in their SPORTS PACK. This is why sometimes you can get these games on DirecTV. as of right now the contract has not changed to ESPN+ as its still in rollout and I'm sure DirecTV (AT&T)will try to negotiate that. Some of the ESPN+ content is still being carried on those channels. SO that may be an option. Outside of that...I am guessing that ABC Montana got a late contract with the game last week as they did carry the game. I contacted them and they did say they have no current plans to carry the game. Does that mean they aren't trying? I doubt it. Well see if they come up with anything or not.

I only have one tower, but it is connected to our big screen in the living room so we can watch whatever we want from the net on the big screen.

Local station broadcasts are great for those in Montana, but they’re a PITA for those of us who live out of state and then had to rely — or more accurately HOPE to rely — upon 1970s era, old fashioned satellite system, which now are about as easy to find as MSU Championship trophies.

I streamed a portion of the cat game last weekend using Chromecast to my 4K television and the quality was just as good as if I were watching ESPN on cable.

Get a Roku, Amazon fire stick, or apple TV and if you have ESPN then you can get ESPN+ on your TV.
If you don't have Hdmi on your older TV then the older Roku have a/v connections.

I have several rokus and love them.

Who should we call to complain?

I emailed every station in Great Falls area. I also emailed Jon Tester, Steve Daines and Greg Gianforte. Don't complain if you don't do anything about it. I complained to everyone I can. Will it do any good, can't hurt?
