ESPN Stats & Info ‏@ESPNStatsInfo
The state of Texas does not have a team in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1977.

Utah does not have a team in for the first time in quite awhile also. 1994 to be exact

Tough draw. At least it's in California. Go Griz! GrizLA appearance?
Only in spirit! Chemo day....GO GRIZ!
Bummer dude.
Hey, the alternative is worse, I think. but this game might be more exiting than we think. Syracuse is on tv here for everygame and was my preseason pick to win it all, but now, it might be my imagination, but thefoul a lot, play very fast and turn over a lot...very East Coast bball...they have a couple 3 pt aces, as well. UM needs a start like they had against Weber..if Cherry can avoid the impulse to shoot the 3, and can cut to basket, he will be lighting up the free throw line..Jamar has an East Coast style as well...Both teams have great coaches...Hopefully, I will be watching...

Griz can win if:
no turnovers
shoot lights out from deep
don't give up offensive boards

that is all.

Better add score the most points to that list.

Hi Montana! 'Cuse fan so this is my 1st post. Brackets are in and we know you are a good team that only has 6 losses. Can anyone give me a Grizzly snapshot that I can bring back to our board?

Looking at your stats on ESPN, it looks like you are good from three and excellent from the free throw line. You don't seem to use a lot of height but you do have a 7' guy and a 6'9 kid that plays more at the 5. You seem to be a well balanced team with no stars but about 10 guys that play well.

In all honesty, I see us winning by 8-12 maybe more, but who knows, we haven't been playing very well lately. Granted the competition has been intense, but we don't shoot the ball very well. Louisville may have demoralized us a little in the BET by blowing us out after we led by 16 with 15min left.

6'8"F J. Southerland is our best shooter but is very streaky, if he is on his game he can hit from just about anywhere, when he's off, well.... Michael Carter-Williams is our PG, can't shoot a lick but has great court vision to distribute.

I think we'll be extending our zone and daring you to beat us inside. Does anyone in the Big-Sky play zone?

Good luck and you are welcome to stop by our board to discuss CBB.

Wow. Getting LESS THAN ZERO respect on their board.

I mean, you'd think they picked us on purpose.

It's probable, yeah. But jeezus are they confident. Not so much as a whisper of a worry. Apparently humility is not their forte. I will not be revisiting that POS.

Typical though. Gawd it would be great to put them down...Boeheim and Bernie rot in hell

Hah yeh I saw that.

Being confident is fine, but give your opponent some props for getting into a position to play you, FFS. Not sayin you need to show huge amounts of respect, but maybe respect the fact that they're there.

None at all there...none.

At least many of the Wisconsin fans were serious about the matchup, even though we didn't show up. These guys looked past UM before the seedings were announced, literally.

I love how they keep saying they are soooooooooooooo glad they didn't draw davidson....dumb fuckers. Somebody tell em Griz played them to ot without Ward or Cherry for the last half...on the road.

Why should they give us respect? They're Syracuse and we're...... well....not. I'd be confident and cocky to.

HaHa you tell 'em! Im done over there already...

Acutally, I believe Doug Gottleib knows quite a bit about Montana. He's a hoops junky. He LOVES Tinks. He knows what the Griz can do and he loves Cherry. Can the Griz beat Cuse? Probably not, but the No. 13 seed is respectable by the committee.

It's hard to imagine a better pairing. Syracuse travels across the country, Monty is coaching Cal in San Jose, which means Cal fans will be pulling for the Griz, and Syracuse doesn't really have any future NBA impact players on their roster at this point, although one guy is projected as a mid first-round pick.

Should be a great game! I think the Griz can pull it off, because Syracuse struggles on offense. :thumb:

You missed the point.

Respect the fact that your opponent is where they are. And if you've never played them before, just show some BASE respect, the kind you'd show a stranger on the street.

And cocky and confident is fine, but showing a tiny bit of humility also makes sense when you've had your ass handed to you by the likes of Vermont and others, and you're not exactly on a tear.

Ya, I get it. Just not surprised is all I'm saying.

Their length bothers me. They are taller at every position and they are long plus they shoot it pretty well. They play a lot of zone so it could be interesting with our shooters.

I am happy for Will and Kareem who will be able to have their hometown fans watch them. Just maybe Syracuse will look past us and we can pull the upset. Hoping for the best but not heading to Vegas to put a lot of money on it.

They look ready.

According to Orange fans Jeff Ament once played hoops for the Griz. Sorry guys, he's a big hoops fan and loves to play but he never played college ball. He wisely used his time honing his music and artistic skills.

Two of my favorite things - the Griz and Pearl Jam!
